V195S is much better, but both have high radiation. I decided on Nokia 6263,similar w/3G and better signal. A little more money. Got mine 2nd hand for $47. Much lower emissions.

Please excuse my ignorance, but I don't know this stuff.

If I bought a phone like this, what would I have to do to get it to work on my ATT contract. I'm unhappy with my ATT Phone or Service, but have like 14 months to go on the contract.

I got this for almost free from T-Mobile when I needed a new phone. Good battery and good sound (I can't stand phones where you struggle to hear what someone is saying and the person on the other end struggles to hear what you are saying.) Besides that, a pretty basic phone. I think it is overpriced, probably because it is unlocked.

your comparation doesn't make sense, like buying the lexus instead of camry, this v195 is the one of the best basic phone out there, your phone is at least twice as much

Stick your at&t SIM in it and turn it on.

Which is why I decided gently used Nokia 6263 is better for several reasons, including my health. Same money as new V195S.

For lowcost, simple unlocked, there is the nokia 1208, others and motorola C118,C139,C168. $12-$30. I have nokia 1208's for backup 900/1800 GSM europe, russia. Very reliable for cheap.

i think the carrier badge refers to the logo that companies (at&t, tmobile, etc) apply to the phones they sell. it has nothing to do with the phone itself, it's just for branding purposes.
