Nice price but this GPS navigation system is not very good. It has a serious fetish with making you take the closest freeway/highway to your destination when the obvious "shortest route" is the best way to go. There is no shortest route option either with this GPS so you cannot override the planned route and take a more direct route.

The price is comming up as $159. Is there a coupon code or something to get it to the stated 109 price?

sounds like typical Sony crap too, 5v in AND a mini usb.... why can't you just charge with miniusb so I don't have to get ANOTHER power cord.

I have the NV-U83T, but I believe the answer is the same - you can. It even says right in the specifications in the first post that DC In can come from 5.0V from USB or 5.2V from the AC or DC adapters.

I believe the routing is the same for both as well, since they use the same map updates, and well, it's bizarre. I've updated to the latest maps available. It doesn't seem to realize that you can turn in certain ways at key intersections and freeway junctions. For example, for the freeway junction three blocks from my house, it will use it when going northbound, but won't route southbound, instead sending you on surface streets for a few miles to another on-ramp. At the nearest junction of two freeways, though you should go straight through on one freeway, it asks you to get onto the other freeway for one exit, turn around, and then get back on the original freeway.

Fortunately I primarily want the large screen map display to get my sense around unfamiliar neighborhoods. Supposedly the routing does learn, and some have said that if you ignore some of the bizarre detours enough times, it will start to learn the more optimal and correct path. However, I've only had it a few weeks and not long enough to observe that yet.

I had a few GPS units and this is the best of them all . I love it and my friends are impressed by the looks of it.

OP, the price on the website you linked is $159, please change the title in case that the price is not $109.

this was defnitely $109 AT THAT TIME! That was Aug 17 and it's Oct 01 now. Sony has weekly sale items on their refurbished items. Geez, other people really need to learn how to read and not just look....

lol. august? way to go bumping.
