LACIE 1TB USB 7200 RPM External Hard Drive $85.99 After Mail in Rebate Rebate and Free Shipping at ZipZoomFly.com Ships for $105.99. Rebate offer valid through September 20, 2009. Rebate info can be found here.

Granted, this is only a couple bucks cheaper than the Dell deal last month, but it is the best deal I could find this afternoon by almost $12. Amazon is selling it for $99.95, but they don't have the rebate offer. Majority of reviews are positive; if I hadn't just picked up an external hard drive recently, I'd be jumping on this.

  • 1 TB USB external hard drive with a stunning design by Neil Poulton
  • Fast USB 2.0 interface offers connectivity and transfer rates of up to 480 Mbps
  • Plug and Play functionality for both Macs and Windows

With Bing Cash Back (20%), this becomes a hot deal.

USB 2.0 isn't fast. Remeber that rate is not a SUSTAINED data transfer rate.
Firewire is MUCH better.
USB 2.0 is good if you don't backup much that often, or do it in the background.

Do most PC users even have Firewire yet? I agree, Firewire is better, but then, I'm a Mac user

There are at least 5 PCs in my household, and I'm not sure that even one of them has a Firewire port.
