great find, OP! It's tough to find even the batteries alone for this price. I think the last time I went looking for a set even remotely similar to this, I had to pay almost $25 locally, and I only got AAs with the charger (which was not travel friendly).

A lot of bad reviews on the batteries on Buy.com.

I would rather suggest going with Duracell or Kodak 1-hour chargers, both have worldwide voltage and come with 4 batteries. Check your local Wal-Mart or other stores. I had great experience with both. On the contrary, I had bad experience with Sony 15-minute charger - Sony AA 2500 Mah batteries do not hold charge. It was waste of money. In the past, I used rechargeable batteries of Duracell, Kodak, Energizer, Sony, Rayovac, Digital Concepts, and Sony. The bottom line, Duracell batteries beat them all in performance. Kodak batteries that came with 1-hour charger were great too. Both are normally made in Japan.

I used their AA rechargeable batteries with their D, C battery spacers. Them seem to hold charge OK.
Wonder what explains bad reviews. It might be either high defect rate of those China made batteries
or maybe charger is junk. Stick with Duracell 1-hour charger with Duracell pre-charged batteries,
which seem to have better charge holding time. Sanyo makes them too - Sanyo Eneloop.
