thanks DavidB4775

Green for you - thanks!!!!

seems not work now - "Neither of the addresses provided match the address on file with the issuer of the credit card(s) you have listed [DE341]".

Never knew people actually paid for Gold membership. The biggest advantage is the ability to bypass lines and head straight to the car after reaching the rental car lot.

worked for me! thx greeeen

Thanks, it worked. davidphoenix - Check ur telephone number and the year should be in xxxx format not in xx.

Like I always said Butcherboy "YOU DA MAN!"

Worked great, and I didn't need to create new account. I had regular #1 Club and hit "login" instead of adding all my info and I was upgraded to Gold. Even changed the company name from "getatraveldeal" to my company and account remains Gold. A++++

Worked great, thanks.

Works for me! Thanks OP!

I entered my Credit Card info,, but it didn't say if I was charged any fees or not!!!

Why I entered these info then?

Same issue as davidphoenix - "Neither of the addresses provided match the address on file with the issuer of the credit card(s) you have listed [DE341]" Triple checked everything still nothing.

The card info is needed in your profile for rentals since you can just drop the car, grab the receipt and walk out.

thanks Butcherboy GO GREEN

Providing CC# is required for the signup. Is the $60 fee expected to be applied an year from now? I have already put a note in my google calendar to inquire and cancel an year from now, but wanted to know if someone could inform. I tried to search but could not find the answer for the next year's fee.

Worked for me as well, thanks!!

Worked perfectly. Thanks!

Thanks so much! Worked for me.

requires cc #?

For those signing up, do you notice a savings at all on the rentals? Do they seem cheaper than usual? I am hesitant to put down a CC# for something I am not sure I am going to use or that's even cheaper for that matter...

Is Hertz Gold any different than, say, Dollar Express where I just go to the booth and pickup my contract?

not to burst anyones bubble but it will work for anyone who go to hertz.com and signs up.
they are doing away with the $60 fee...
free to join for all....

in my travels i find hertz to be the most expensive, with or without discounts or coupons and also all the other major rental car outfits have the same benefits per say...

I'm under 25 and had no problems signing up. It just some restrictions may apply, and it just seems to add the absurd under 25 fee to the rental. I added the Hertz family gold CDP to my account and got rid of that though. Still seems more expensive than other places, even with them charging the fee.

A bigger concern with Hertz are efforts to extort more money - high pressure upselling of upgrades, coverage, etc., carefully inspecting vehicles and charging for minor dings and dents.

Hertz is coming up more often on opaque deal sites like Priceline, or in vacation packages, so while they do not accure points or other bennies, having the card gets around the long lines at the rental counter.

Thank you.

Do you guys really think Hertz is the most expensive? I just booked a Saturday to Tuesday (3 days) car rental in November for $47 on an economy car using discount codes. Do you think I can do better than that?

Sometimes they're cheaper, sometimes not. I find the service is the best of the rental companies though, and the Gold status is mainly just simpler. Get off the shuttle bus, walk to your car, get in and drive away, show your license to the guy at the exit. No fuss, no muss.

Ditto! Thanx OP

anyon know whether the membership fee will be charged automatically next year?

Question
How do I renew my #1 Gold membership?

Answer
If your membership has not yet expired, you may receive a renewal notice within 3 months of your expiration date. If your membership has already expired, or did not receive the renewal notice, please contact our Gold Service department at 1-800-654-4173 or you can send an e-mail to Gold_Service@hertz.com

My friend has a Hertz Gold. Everytime we go on a trip we get on the shuttle, go to the rental lot, look for his name and stall number at the board posted in front, walk over to the car, get in, show drivers license to the guy at the booth, and drive away. We never wait in any lines. Sometimes we get a surprise upgrade too.

Since I already had #1 Club membership, I upgraded to #1 Club Gold on 8/23 after I logged in. I still was able to use the CDP number and pin code to get the membership fee waived. I also saw a screen saying the membership fee would be waived.

I checked out my credit card activity today and found that $60 membership fee has been charged. Be cautious.

Thanks it worked.

i have united mileage 20% coupon. can i combine that with this one?

yes it requires cc. I got this deal a while back for AMEX card holder. Sad thing is I always book my car rentals from other providers because they're cheaper..... Hertz usually cost more just like OP said. I don't think it's worth $60 a year for skipping the line, unless my company pays for it.

Signing up was easy and I'm looking forward to skipping the lines. I do have a question though:

Will we be billed $60 each year for this (ie, was this a one-time fee waiving)?

I there a recurring charge if I enter my credit card info?

Thanks OP, renting a car next week so this is great!

Wondering the same thing about automatic renewal charge, but from nodeuces's post above (quoted below) it looks like they probably do not do automatic renewal right?

Skipping 18 Messages...

So, I was able to get pass the first screen, and able to see the "Join" buttom. Now, I am at the screen where I need to enter my "business" or "home" address. Under the Business name box, it filled with "getatraveldeal" . Can I can it to something else?
