I wouldn't consider Excalibur much better (stayed there) .. both are dumps. But that week there are plenty of hotels under $20, and a lot of mid tier hotels (like Treasure Island, etc) for $40-$50, and nice hotels (like Mandalay Bay) for $70-$80.
