About 18 billion words, give or take a billion.

You should backup your memory cards to your PC every now and then.

Class 2? No thank you. I bought an 8gB Class 6 from Newegg for 13.00 shipped. Just gotta keep looking.

I was all set to buy this, and then started thinking about it being Class 2 and it became less attractive. I think I will hold off on this.

I am looking for an 8GB. can you point me to the deal ?

whats the difference between the classes?

generally a class=megabytes per second write speed. class 2=2mbps

class 2 isn't fast enough for video recording unfortunately

any good deals for microSD card? i need to use it for my cell phone Blackberry Tour

There are three classes, 2, 4 & 6. 6 being the fastest.

You should burn them to cd / dvd's pass a copy to your family so you do not lose them.. Drop one in a safe deposit box at your bank,

This card is fast enough for DSLR's though isn't it? I just bought the Pentax K2000 and these looked like a nice fit. I also plan to use them to transfer data (pics and movies) from one computer to another. Is the card fast enough or did I leap before I looked at the deal?

This is a Class 2 -- a slower class.

For a Kingston 8GB SDHC Class 6, see BUY.COM...
just $19.88

The registrant of website www.easystorememory.com is SanDisk Corporation, so presumably the Easystore memory cards are either made by SanDisk or at least distributed through them.

Class rating is the minimum megabytes per second write speed based on "the best fragmented state where no memory unit is occupied". Actual benchmarks for these particular Easystore 4GB cards according to h2testw are an average of 6MB/S write and 10MB/S read when filling up the entire card with data and reading it back.

Class rating is not necessarily a good indicator of actual speeds, particularly when comparing cards from different manufacturers. I have an 8GB SanDisk Class 2 microSDHC that benchmarks at 13MB/S write and 18MB/S read, and a Class 6 PQI card that benchmarks at 9MB/S write and 14MB/S read. Regardless of actual speed, some devices query the card to determine class and may require a minimum class rating.

Why didn't you post it - seems like a good deal.
