Livescribe 1gb pen

I've had my eye on this product for awhile and the price has finally dropped below $130 (it's usually 150-ish). Good deal if you are in the market for one of these. I finally bit.

this is a stupid idea that'll be $1.99 w/ FS at WOOT by black friday

Big Lots already has the 'FLY Fusion Pentop Computer'.

Gonna toss my 2 cents in here just to get the RED. This thing is pretty awesome. If your a person that needs to take notes/record meetings, events, concerts, live shows, etc. If your a designer it is just the #$%^ to the *&^%ing !@*&. They do need to offer graph, hex paper and a 8GB version tho. Did I mention that it makes pretty nice noise cancelled STEREO recordings?

I'm pretty sure you can print out the required paper if you have a good laser printer...

One of the reviews at Amazon says you need a 600 dpi color laser printer.

Count me in as quite intrigued. Never heard of it before, but as someone with adult ADHD who is about to enter grad school, this might be exactly what I need.

This was a lifesaver in meetings where ideas are being tossed around. Set to record, take brief notes, and you can review later by clicking on the text with your pen. I highly recommend these. The software isn't the best, but overall if you're in lots of meetings, its great. My new job, where we have far fewer meetings, this doesn't get the use. When we were designing new software systems though, and talking through ideas and deadlines, the pen came in handy. And you don't need a color printer to print the pages (at least I didn't). Standard office printer did just fine.

buddylee, by standard office printer, I'm assuming a laser printer?
600 dpi, as mentioned by poster above?
my daughter just got one of these for school.

I've used one of these, it works great. Although my handwriting is awful, even I have trouble reading it, so it's not great for taking notes for me. However, it captures drawings very well too.

After watching the demo for this pen i just had to pull the trigger. hoping that touch audio feature will help me out alot in my note taking and recalling info.

Thanks

Just wanted to echo the common consensus here -- it's great if you're someone who takes notes. I'm a student at UC Berkeley and love it.

I also wanted to throw it out there that there is a discount code: LS05DSC451 that can be used at www.livescribe.com/store that will take another 5% off.

Hope that helps!
Kal
