There was a Comcast booth outside of the local WalMart this past weekend and they were offering internet for 24.99/month for 12 months with a $75 rebate on top of that. I'm not sure of the speed or the rebate requirements, but that may be a better deal if you can find a Comcast booth near you.
Just went to comcast.com and looked at rotating "deals". They say they have 6 month internet for $24.99 but when you read the terms and conditions, you see that you must also get phone or TV at regular prices for this deal. After 6 months, the prices for internet jumps to the regular prices of either $42.95 or $59.95. That's a terrible "deal"
I called up the sales, and they offered $49.99 for HSI and phone bundle for one year..

I hear RCN in Boston is no good. I found a deal for Comcast in Boston for $79.99/mo for 9 months. Digital starter cable with HBO and Showtime and high speed internet

Verizon DSL and FIOS(in some areas) is available in Boston area, FIOS is pretty fast, my buddy is on 50mb line with them(10mb up). I am also looking for decent comcast net only deal since damn FIOS is not in my area and DSL is only up to 1.5mb for like $50 bucks yikes
Yesterday i was using live chat to ask ab comcast deals. Talked to 3 sales reps because i was going to order limited basic which would make me a current customer to qualify for the 19.99 internet promo. I would then cancel limited basic and keep the internet. The third rep just randomly offered me 12Mbit 19.99 for 6 months internet with free installation. I said i did not currently have service with them and she said it's for new customers too (even though the other rep said it wasn't available for new customers). I took it. Hopefully i can use the same method to extend it before my 6 months is up.
I'm in Grand Rapids, Mi. If you're using live chat make sure you're talking to a sales rep. If not have them transfer you.

I am thinking about signing up for this deal. Does anyone know if the installer will ask for proof that I am a student (like a student ID)? I chatted online with Comcast and the rep that i spoke with said that he would. I'm not sure if I believe that though.

I always get following error message trying to chat
We apologize that chat for Michigan is not available as a support option. Alternatively, you can telephone us at 800-COMCAST (266-2278) and a Michigan customer care representative will take care of your question or concern.
I wonder how were you able to get it to work?

If only there was a Jimmy in the Chicagoland area
Right now we're paying around $70/mo for phone + AT&T 6mbit DSL; we don't really use the home phone that much, so trying to find a good comcast deal for new customers and then possibly trying at the TMobile@Home thing since it's really really cheap.
