I don't even have $1,000 plates, pots or pans to go with these knives. And here I thought that a $100 set of knives was decent.

For 1000 smackaroos these knives had better come with a stripper.

$1000 for what?!

By Grabthar's Hammer... what a savings.

Seriously though, who is Ken Onion, and why should I buy his knives? Are they the lower quality Shun-Kershaw version that popped up on the board in the last few weeks (courtesy of Amazon), or something different?

Should come with lifetime supply of Onions.

I love ken orion but wowow thats expensive

So will these things cut straight through the cutting board and your granite countertop if you're not careful?

Ummmm, Odumbma's economy stimulus plan is really working...

red for off topic political opinion

not hot at all $787.50 after bing CashBack on eBay.

I used to wear them on my belt, because that was the style.

I doubt they cut better than the set of Kitchen Aid knives my wife spent $80 on.

I had to cross, uncross, and refocus my eyes 'cause I thought there was an extra 9 in the price. I have no idea who this Onion guy is.

Are these equivalent to Royal Prestige Pots & Pans

Mucho Dinero!! I originally thought a decimal point was off.

OK, OP, I'll shun it. Thanks for the warning.

IMO Ken Onion are probably one of the best kitchen knives out there, top quality steel, perfect balance, and an excellent handle. This set will last for a lifetime especially with the free knife sharpening provided by shun.

This price seems a little high, but you get what you pay for. It is similar to purchasing All-Clad pans, not everybody wants to pay the price (even during the seconds sale), but many people swear by them.

I have a smaller Ken Onion set that i purchased for $500 on eBay, I love it but also use Victorinox Forschner knives which are a great value.

green for the price of the Shun knife set, but RED overall for the fact that no one should buy a whole knife set. If you really want a shun, buy a french chef and a paring knife. You're pretty much good to go.

Yup. . .knife SETS are for suckers. The gal gave me a $100 chef's knife for my birthday, and that's pretty much all I need for cooking.
