Vision Direct
See Vision Direct discounts that earn 5.0% cash back.

warning: rebate terms include an eye exam (prescription from your eye doctor) in the last three months. At least they did when my wife tried to get a 100$ rebate from Acuvue.

First line from the online rebate submission webpage: "Contact lenses must be purchased between 7/1/09 and 12/31/09 and within 90 days after the eye exam."

How do you get Drugstore dollars if you have to go through bing? If you go through bing to Drugstore, then you are jumping to Vision Direct. Is the bing discount/link be lost?

butch, pretty good 'as seen on tv' imitation.

i just see 10% back on Vision Direct & Drugstore

I did this offer through bing (it was 20% back when I did it last week).
I got the contacts, they are amazing... shipping was very fast.

I have the luxury of having vision insurance, so my insurance pays $105 for out of network suppliers, plus the $100 prepaid VISA from Acuvue (only $30 for Acuvue for Astigmatism). I ended up making money off of them.

My shipped total from Vision Direct was $167, still a very good deal after getting the $100 back, it ends up $67 for 8 boxes of lenses for the everyday consumer without insurance. My eye exam was $10, but honestly, call around and see what other optometrists charge.

Don't forget that Vision Direct will price match to 800 contacts (I think they price guarantee to 105%), but I'm still ironing out that detail.

I only see 10%

hmm I only see 10% from Bing too. Either way it's still pretty good
~14.36/Box after rebate for year's supply

EDIT: Okay to get the 30% you do a search "oasys" through www.BING.COM NOT through the "shopping" link. The 30% shows up on top in the sponsored sites section. If you search for "oasys" through the shopping you only get 10%

I won't get my lens prescription till Tuesday, any idea how long the Bing CashBack usually lasts?

i'm able to see 30% on bing, but unfortunately will not get a prescription until monday or so. Hope it lasts until then.

Is there a link to the 30%

I'm sure this has been asked earlier but how do they find out if I'm a first time Oasys wearer? My wife has been using Oasys for >1yr now, but I was thinking to try it for myself. Both wifey and I need new stock for contacts. Thanks OP, just in time!

Why don't they offer the 8.6 Base Curve? They have both the 8.4 and 8.8. I thought 8.6 was pretty standard.

i actually ran over to my eye doc just now and got the prescription!! I was afraid this deal may end and I really needed new lenses as well. I had the acuvue advance before but wanted to switch over to the oasys.

In. Great deal. Wife went to the eye doc this AM just by chance. They all seem to be pushing these lenses with the $100 rebate. Thanks OP.

THey call you up and ask you some questions.... they also use a weird device which analyzes pitch changes in your voice to determine if you are lying.
Take a xanex, you will pass with flying colors.

Edit: nevermind

They ask for your eye doctor name/address. It has been my experience that they do call and confirm with eye doctor--I've ordered for 5 years from them and they have called every time to confirm. I faxed them a copy of the prescription once but they still called so I just fill out the info and let them verify---my eye doctor is a neighbor and she mentions it every time I order that they call her.

Did anyone get charged a $1.99 processing fee?

Keep in mind that using a coupon may invalidate Bing CashBack.

I think OPs math is a little off. Bing CashBack is calculated only AFTER the coupon comes off. NOT before. Please correct.

Not true for Vision Direct. I made order last week and have CashBack pending for pre coupon amount...

Not all contacts are made the same. An 8.6 base curve of "lens A" is not necessarily going to fit the same as an 8.6 of "lens B." Don't get hung up on "needing" an 8.6 base curve because that is what you have had before. I fit people in contacts that have all the same parameters as their old lenses and sometimes they work. But other times they don't. That's why you should always get a proper fitting for any contact lens instead of trying to change it yourself.

They know if you are a previous wearer only if you have filled a rebate with them before.

So i place the order for Total: $ 163.42 and then get the Cash Back right? How do I know that I am getting the bing.com CashBack?

So the $100 rebate is in the contact lens box, right?

Just want to be sure

I placed order yesterday and so far have not seen any CashBack in my bing account although I went thru bing and it said that I was going to get CashBack. I've received only one email from VisionDirect. So how long it takes before bing CashBack shows up ?

DOn't see 30%

Took a few days till it showed.

It's actually $6 .. there is a $1.99 processing fee attached. fyi.

I see 30% bing Cash Back. just placed an order. there is $1.99 processing fee

Hate to ask again, but can anyone tell me how to find that 30% with Bing; I still only see 10%.

Called America's Best to schedule an appt. for today. $69 bucks and they claim I must wear doctor-prescribed contact lenses for 1 week, after which I'd be able to get the prescription. Somehow I don't believe them...Wish I could get a local optometrist tomorrow and still get this deal.

Question- can the rebate be refused if the order pre-dates the prescription by 1 day

Go to bing CashBack, type "contact lenses", in the right upper corner look for VisionDirect...and the 30% and a dollar sign. Should be the 2nd result on upper right. You must have a Bing acct., if not-create one.

how did you apply both coupons? I can only get one to work.

I did these yesterday and No Bing CashBack....did I have to use IE 7 or IE8 to get the Bing CashBack to work?

I used Firefox and just remembered now if this makes a difference.

anyone know of any good deals for an eye exam?

buxbuster said: anyone know of any good deals for an eye exam?

Yeah, if you have medical insurance, depending on your co-pay amount, have them bill it through as a medical exam (diabetic or another reason). Then you will not have to pay the eye exam fee and fitting fee, but rather just your normal co-pay for a doctor's office visit. Worth a shot.

Skipping 60 Messages...

All of the J&J Acuvue contacts have the Japanese characters on the box. The only disappointment I have is that almost all of the contacts are now coming from the Ireland factory versus Jacksonville Florida factory as before (is that even still open).

Yet, J&J continues to raise prices and thus stores has been raising the prices year to year (before coupons).
