I would be curious to know what the performance of this laptop is.....but I ordered one anyway, hopefully its good. Have your ordered a refurbished product before? Any problems?
Call the Dell customer service number and let them know. They can put your service tag in the system. I did it today and now the windows 7 upgrade site works for my outlet system.

I currently have the 1525, I was looking to get a laptop with a better video card and noticed these are available with an ati vid card. The only thing is that the 1545 does not have is an HDMI out or S-Video output so that killed the deal for me.

Most Outlet laptop qualify for Window 7 Upgrade -- HOWEVER, system you purchase must ship with at least Vista Home "Premium". "Vista Basic" systems DO NOT qualify for Windows 7 upgrade. Note that some of the lower priced 1545's ship with Basic.
Also it appears that if you buy a Vista Home Premium 32bit system you will get 32bit Windows 7 (buy a 64bit Vista Home Premium, get 64bit Win 7). I believe the Retail Upgrade version sold by MS will have both 32 & 64 bit versions and you can have a 32bit Vista system and install 64bit Win 7, though this will require a clean install rather than an in place upgrade.

Does anyone know if the SD reader comes standard on all 1545's? It's not listed on the specs within the Dell Outlet page.
