I would personally wait for the Panasonic plasma to be close to this price, but my daughter has had a 32" Insignia LCD in her bedroom for over 3 years now and the picture is still great.
Insignia is crap dont buy it! Dont let them BB employees fool about Insignia being made by LG or Toshiba it's made very cheaply. I bought a 37" 1080p model about a year ago, that thing froze up on me from time to time and had black light issues. I exchanged it out once and had the same issue with the second one. I ended up returning the TV, the BB return desk employee was not surprised when I asked if this was common for this tv. Spend a little more and get a Vizio its a world of difference.
well I can tell you a similar story of woe with Vizio. Lucky I'd bought them from costco. Never again from Vizio. "Just say no to Vizio is what I always say." 3 bad units

Ask around and you'll find people who have had TVs go bad by Panaphonics, Sorny, Pie-in-ear and such. I've had a Vizio for over a year and it's been perfect. Neither your nor my small sample size says much about their overall quality.
For large items such as big-screen TVs, the moral of the story is to buy locally in case you have to return it, saving shipping costs.

I'm aware of that, it always is. I'm just trying to find out how this is a deal after shipping and sales tax. (Figured shipping was free which is why you posted it since they usually charge hight $ shipping.)

As stated before, all generic models can have problems. Thats what happens when you can buy a TV for like half the price of a major brand, you get what you pay for. They don't always have problems, but its something you should be thinking about when you buy the cheaper TV. However, we've had a 32" or 37" vizio from back in the day when the just came out, and its been running great for 4 or 5+ years!

Agreed. I think Samsung makes good TVs but I had a few week old 23" Samsung die with a puff fo smoke.
I jumped on it, so far so good. 1024x768 is fine for movies/tv, not so great for computer/video games. The inputs on this model are kinda unusual, 2 x component (one of which can be used as a composite) and 2 x HDMI. No S-Video or VGA.
