I was looking for something else on searsoutlet.com and found Nikon D40 DSLR camera (brand new condition) for $349.93. The site indicated availability at couple of local Sears retails stores. The product page asked to bring the print out to avail the discount.

Check it out yourself. Select stores (top right corner) for your zip code and browse down to Home Office>Digital Camera>Nikon
Malamo said: Monroeville, PA They had a D40 on the display for $399, the D60 was somewhere in the "Camera Room" I would post a pic, but can not figure out how yet.
Right under the message box are three button options you can click. The last one should say "I want to attach files to this message after posting" Hit reply and it will ask you for the file. If you have any questions, let me know.
edit: nevermind, you figured it out. btw, nice deal OP! thanks for posting
Nothing in the Bay Area of California -- just a Kodak Easy Share. Green for you OP! Def. YMMV on this one.

This is refurbished or open box item. I checked with a local store in TX. They said that "991" is for open box/reconditioned items.

Just got back from Sears in Cupertino, CA. They didn't have any Nikon D60s remaining, despite what the Sears Outlet website said. The salesperson told me that the other local Sears stores did not have any D60s in stock either.
I actually just went down to my Sears and got the D40 for the $149 price !!!!! All it came with was the power cords, USB, and the camera. No box or anything. They said it was a display.
No luck with the D40 (Seattle, WA area) but +1 for the OP anyway.
This did show up though:
12.2MP Digital SLR Camera, EOS Rebel XSi......$449.93........Condition: Reconditioned (Seattle/Aurora, WA)
Camera Lens, AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor lens...........$167.93........Condition: New (Lynnwood, WA)
Great way to get into a decent starter D-SLR with an 18-55mm and 55-200mm lens for ~$618 + tax.
Cheers, Eemrek

Vow that is an awesome price. Could you please post the receipt scan ? I know they do not pricematch closeouts, but it doesnt hurt to try.

I just returned from the Sears in Auburn MA. I showed up with a printed out thing from searsoutlet.com for a D60 for $299 I had no idea whether it was kit or just body and I didn't care. I had purchased the one for $325 ish refurbed body only from Adorama earlier in the week and it has a shutter shaking issue. The guy at the desk had no idea what I was showing him, he got the manager, the manager found the camera and brought it out and said, it is better than you thought, $239.93. I asked him if there were any more, I would have bought them all for my friends, but there weren't. I am very happy! The slip on the box has used checked but the camera is new, no way it has been out of the box. I have a D40 that I had a shutter issue with and I sent it out for repair for $180.00, this was a steal, but it is a big YMMV. Worth a shot though!

There is no D3000 model in the Nikon lineup. You must mean either the D5000 or the D300s. Probably the D5000 if you paid $511 for it.

I have a D5000 too with a Sigma 18-200 lens and I like it very much. But it was way more (like 850) than the D60 at 239.

No, as I said it was the D3000. See below. And by the way, I tried to get the D60 for 299 but the Manager told me they do not match Sears outlet price. I will try again this week hoping there is another manager
Went to two Sears and the d40 showed up as 399 at both, although they were nearly out of all nikons at one of their locations.

no luck on price for d60 in houston as it was still $399 and I had to bite the bullet and buy it. I will wait and see if they will drop the price and then go back for price match. They wouldnt pricematch with other stores. Those who got it for $299 or less should be celebrating..

Just bought a D40 with 18-55 non-VR lens at Salem, NH for $250 (no tax in NH). Last one, former demo, no box or accessories.
For the demo nikons that was were purchased, did they have a screw locking the lens into the body? I was bale to find a demo unit at the Sears in Cerritos but the rep informed me that there was screw in it so that made me shy away from the deal.

was able to pick up a d40 at Sears in Baton Rouge, but it was the floor model. The manager had just taken it off the display to mark it down, $349.93. No box or manual though.
Well, this got me all excited. searsoutlet.com showed my local Sears had a refurb Panasonic TZ4 camera for $19.99! I went out to pick it up today, but they said it was long gone as the website did not have an accurate inventory of what's really in the store.
You can read all user experiences at http://forum.searsoutlet.com/. Only few were able to get deals from searsoutlet. Rest of them, either it will not be in stock or they don't honor the outlet price.
Wow, I just took a look at the searsoutlet.com forum. Sounds suspiciously like bait and switch to me.

Anything that ever ends in .93 at Sears is an in store only markdown. So highly YMMV that it's not even worth posting about(other than to brag at the good deal)

Sears in Salinas, CA says they have nearly 40 new D40's in stock priced at $319.
