you don't need to be a member to buy from REI, just to get dividen back at the end of the year on full price items. Since this is on sale you wouldn't get any money back anyways. I'd pick one up if I didn't have half a dozen thermarests already in the garage...
I have the thermarest prolite 3 and love it. I have the short which works surprisingly well despite the length (super small pack size). These are great lightweight and extremely packable sleeping pads. I've used mine for backcountry camping and car camping. I have only heard even better things about the 4 so I would highly recommend it.
