1. 6' HDMI cable (for your HDTV) 2. a compact UHF/VHF antenna (for your HDTV or laptop with tuner) 3. 2 x AAA battery for your gadgets 4. 1 RF cable for connecting cable/OTA to your TV. 5. RCA cable for your legacy electronics 6. A 100-240V AC to 12V DC adapter 7. + some junk (you can possibly use the converter in car or boat as it takes 12V DC)
All for nothing when you use the coupon from Uncle Sam (no longer available).

Nice find OP. I originally received two DTV coupons and used only one of them. Now I am going for another one, even though I don't need it. Nothing to lose.
Wish I had my coupon. I gave it to another fw'er who promised to return me one when he got his in the mail, needless to say I sent him my coupon and he never sent me the one he promised.....

The intent of the government coupon program was for people who NEEDED a box and COULD NOT AFFORD to buy one. You should be ashamed of yourself!

Since it wasn't tax-funded, I never had a moral objection to it. We picked up additional channels and it at least gave us the option to drop cable in the future.
I looked at it more like a tax rebate in exhange for the gov't selling off part of "our" frequency spectrum. Never really thought much more about it--you're the first person I've seen propose this. I'm open to viewpoints (but have already spent both coupons).
I never get flu shots, though. Need to make sure there isn't a shortage for the young, elderly, infirm, and prenant!

Um, how do you define "NEED" in this scenario? You're saying that people NEED to watch TV? Wow, interesting...
I also didn't see any verbiage with respect to the program being targeted only to those who can't afford one. Do you have a source?

Actually you may use it someday. For instance, you have a portable DVD player or a digital photo frame, 7" or 10", it has the AV In Jack, By connecting the converter box to it via a AV cable, you get a small Digital TV immediately. Actually any small Screen device with a AV in jack can be used to display the FOA digital TV programs. Another example, If your LCD monitor has the RCA connector(many 22" and above monitors have it), you can connect it to turn your PC monitor into a Digital TV.

Some not so great reviews on Amazon...sounds like they might have heat issues. They are not lasting past 2-3 months. Can't complain about free though.
What chapped my butt about the coupon program was that you couldn't use it on anything other than the low-end boxes without digital audio out, etc. I was willing to pony up the difference for a better box, but noooooo...

Listen Mr. High and Mighty, I own a perfectly good 27" television that is old enough to have been built to last and still has a better picture than newer pre-digital CRT sets had. I was forced to either buy an adapter, subscribe to a television service, or junk the set. The least someone could do is provide me with a tuner box and keep the set out of the landfill.
I don't give a flying flip as to if I could afford to pay for an adapter or not, I didn't request to have my 15 year old set rendered useless.
You can get 2 HDMI cables free. Just change the quantity to 2.

The intent of the government coupon program was for people who NEEDED a box and COULD NOT AFFORD to buy one. You should be ashamed of yourself! I thought the purpose of it was to soften the blow when they forced us to go digital... and honestly, it's not like the quality of quantity of channels have increased for us poor folks.
Instead of snow, we get black. Instead of fuzzy, we get blinking black screens. Instead of 12 channels, we get 14 channels with 3 of them being a repetition channels. They should've mandated all digital tuners include a QAM tuners, that would've been better. In any case, now Comcast continues to have a vice on my for $20 a month for basic "basic cable" with 35 channels, but some are repetition channels, and some channels within 2-35 doesn't even work. Whatever, everyone is in it to make money and us poor folks are the victims.
I thought it was my lucky day--have 2 coupons expiring today (Thursday). But Meritline says "order must be placed at least 7 days before coupon expiration date." Guess I'll just have to toss them tomorrow Thanks for posting deal, though, OP!

Thank you for posting this !
I have 2 coupons I need to redeem for as little cost as possible, hopefully for free, and I used one for this box.
I didn’t want to get two of the same box in case they have problems. I’d prefer to get two different brands.
Are there any other free-after-coupon deals out there for these boxes ?

Bravo and right to the point. Some of the local stations I get are in serious money problems because people didn't understand the whole coupon concept and dumped their TVs in the trash.
hmmm, I kept putting off getting the coupon to keep it from expiring on me, I recently canceled my cable and now its too late to get the coupon. If anyone happens to have an extra coupon I would be much obliged to take it off your hands, but I understand it's my fault for putting it off, just know that my intentions are pure. any takers, please PM me. thanks.
This is ridiculous. Ok so China builds these receivers and sells them to the US but the US has no money so we have to borrow $$ from China to fund this government TV receiver deal to give to the citizens? How long can this continue? China makes these products for the US and gives them to us and then we borrow us the money to "buy" them from them? Good post though OP! I got one laying around.
Says right on the coupon when it expires. Mine expired end of July. Darn!

i still got 4 coupons! does this 1 change channels fast? i got the other 1 Meritline had the airlink 101 and that is slow to change channels and blocks the picture for 5 sec with the channel# have to look at some reviews and hope they mention the channel change speed!
this sunkey has a lot of bad ratings!
here's a typical 1.Just purchased this and I'm disappointed with this box. It is cheaply manufactured, the remote is not easily recognized by the box (have to press buttons multiple times before it registers), the number of recognized stations seems ok but the quality of the stations is so poor that only about 3/10 are watchable - the rest the picture and sound goes in and out or freezes so frequently it is unwatchable, even though the signal indicator says 80-85% for each station. The EPG feature only gives info for the current and 1 or 2 following shows only on the currently tuned channel, no show descriptions are provided and does not give you info about what is on other channels. I would suggest choosing a different box.

If you haven't used, call them, they will send you another coupon. That was what happened to my brother. He got two but misplaced them. When found already expired. Call the gov and they sent him two new ones.
I wonder how much the prices of these basic boxes will drop when there are no more government coupons outstanding to sustain current costs. It seems that they're already throwing in freebies to make the remaining deals more atractive.
To those asking for free coupons; is it really for personal need or just resale. After all the advance warnings/hype, it seems hard to understand the late need.
And a curse on FW member "squatter" for his worthless promise.

you won't be able to get new coupons now. Government stopped sending out new coupons month ago.
JustinGJ said: Happy with my (non) purchase, got the two converter boxes, two HDMI cables, and two antennas that look like something Austin Powers would use in the field. I placed my order the day my coupons were to expire even though they state to allow a week for them to put that paperwork through. Quick turnaround for sure. Meritline came through for me this time.
Wish I'd know that, would have gone that way w/ mine that was expiring, but didn't trust it based on the their disclaimer. Guess for free no reason not to try (and I ruled them out 4 days before expiration).
I made the mistake of thinking I'd pick up the Digital Stream unit at a local Radio Shaft store for free or maybe a few bucks... jeez the local store (and a c0mpany store too!) had jacked the price up to over $70!! Talk about a rip-off, this unit is only $60 on the web and much less several months ago. Might help someone else, Amazon has a processing 'glitch' where they cannot process the coupons the day they expire even though their website seems to indicate they can (confirmed by a customer service rep when I called).
I had about given up using it, but tried Tiger Direct (yeah I know - the old rebates, but no rebate involved) and they processed the coupon about 10 pm on the day it expired when I called. Well actually they only sell the craig unit but it costs $.01. Kudos to them - I really had given up and was focused on getting one really cheap that point. Got it real quick but haven't hadn't had a chance to try it out yet...
