5-Day Complimentary Disney's Armed Forces Salute Ticket valid thru December 23, 2009
Free 5 Day Park Hopper Disney Ticket available for Active Duty, Retired & Reservist (both active and inactive) Good for Members admission to all theme parks & water parks. Available through MWR on Military Installations. Dependent tickets are available for $99.00 (no tax on military facility) These tickets are for 5 Days of access to a single park per day only, but may be upgraded at Disney guest services to park Hopper for $25.00 per ticket and another $25.00 per ticket for water park access.

I am an inactive reservist who separated with the VSI program in 1994 and have a red ID card with indefinite expiration. I was unaware of the program and stumbled on this deal It Cost me $297 for 4 of us; my two boys ages 21 & 25 who went with my wife & I. We only went to Disney for 3 days and sold the remaining 2 days to one of the discount ticket vendors for $80.00.

Thought this was a great deal and wanted to pass on to those that are elegible

My dad is retired USAF and we did this deal. It's great. You get a kind of credit card that they swipe at the entry gates. We also combine this with the free $75 gift card (tho its limited in use) that you can get on your birthday at Disney parks. We still have two uses left.

It's even better deal if you live in FL since it's usually just a quick drive for most, even from North FL.

Remember, this is only available on Military Installations. We got ours at Macdill AFB in Tampa, FL.

Do you need to show your military ID at the entrance if you have prepurchased tickets? Do the tickets look any different than regular tickets? If you sell the remainder days to someone else, does that person need to have military ID as well? Thank you!

You need an ID to buy the tickets (and to get on the base of course). Now, From what I remember, only the the person who picks up the tickets for the family has to show Military ID. You do not have to show ID after you get your tickets to get into the park... because I no longer have a military ID due to my age but I am still able to get into the parks.

My 'ticket' looks like a credit card, complete with black stripe on the backside. It is marked on the back they it is a 5-Day Disney Armed Forces Salute Companion Ticket.

My dates listed: "Valid Jan 4th, 2009 -> Dec. 23, 2009".

It does say "Military ID Required / Nontransferable" in fine print. Again, I never had to show ID to get into the actual park... but I also always had my parents with me who do have ID anyway.

Thank you so much! What about the tickets you bought for $99 for your family? Are they regular tickets?

We did this back in July. Basically, the military person has to go to Disney gates, not online, show id, and can get one ticket for himself, and purchase 5 more for friends and family. They do ask for names, and the names are put on the ticket. You can't share tickets anymore as they now have finger print scanners at the gates.

They are regular tickets but are not "park hopper" tickets for multiple parks within one day, which the military member ticket is. You can buy those, but they are slightly more expensive (and when we visited, we didn't miss the park hopper option at all -- just visit one park entirely in one day).

Great Feed back ... For best saving buy tickets on military facility (no tax) if you buy at Disney Customer Relations you will pay tax ... no way to avoid upgrade tax as the 99$ tickets are single park per day for each of 5 days. It's kind of a hook thing the Military member get full access to everything and the dependent tickets are restricted to single park per day, If you only go to one park per day no need to upgrade to hopper. Water park price for single day is more than the upgrade price for all 5 days. So if you plan to go to water park do the upgrade. Upgrade can be purchased at water park even after ticket has been used. So if you don't plan to go to water park and later decide to go you can still get discount. They do use index finger scan, but the local discounters have the system gamed somehow!!

Oh the 99$ tickets are cred card like that are converted to paper tickets and they require id at customer relations to convert to paper tickets. They do log the users info not sure if you can get more than 1 ticket per person under this offer. i.e (2) 5 day deals for same person you'd have to ask MWR at Military Facility. Some one said they tie into Military computer but, I was unaware if they did. they used my dependents drivers lic for ID purposes.

All of our tickets are in the form of a credit card. They are not park hopper passes. It is nice to keep in your wallet and just scan at the gates with a fingerprint.

Must be they converted ours because the boys wanted to get park hopper option.

Just good for Disney World, not Land?

Good question. Looking at my card, it does only say "Walt Disney World Resort". But we can use it for any Disney Theme park such as Epcot or Animal Kingdom. Sorry I don't know the answer. Might be able to call Disney ticketing and ask, or if you are able to stop by the place that sells tickets on an Installation and ask.

I would call but I just looked at my card and it seems to imply Florida but here is a good email to get an answer wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com Disney is pretty reasonable I had some tickets some years ago for Disneyland and they honored them at Disney World.

If anyone is interested, I have 3 5-day disney park hopper tickets for sell, $250 for all 3 passes. The tickets are for a Military family only. If interested, I can be reached at trobin15@dtcc.edu

Does anyone know if they are doing this in 2010

Noteworthy changes from last year's Armed Forces Salute offer:

  • To date, Disney Land does not have this same offer yet (not to say they won't someday).
  • There are black out dates that apply to the tickets (see below for details).
  • The offer expires sooner this year, as your tickets need to be purchased by July 31st 2010 and "activated" at the WDW ticket window by September 26th 2010 because they expire September 30th 2010.
  • The tickets are now 4-day passes, instead of 5-day like last year. (No biggie... if you purchase the Water Fun & More for $25 a person, you can extend your trip by visiting the park 4 days with the base ticket, and visit the other attractions for 4 days as well, giving you a maximum of 8 days of fun. This option gives you a back up plan should it rain, allowing you to spend the day at Disney Quest playing games instead.)
  • The service-member must purchase his/her ticket this year, as it isn't a complimentary one like last year. Again, not a big deal, $99 is still an amazing price!

More details from the Shades of Green website:

From January 3, 2010 to July 31, 2010, Active and Retired U.S. Military , including members of the U.S. Coast Guard and active members of the National Guard or Reservists, may purchase 4-Day Walt Disney World Armed Forces Salute Tickets for themselves and up to five (5) family members and/or friends for $99.

The base ticket is valid for 4 days of admission into one of the 4 Walt Disney World theme parks. The Park Hopper option allows guests to visit more than one park each day. The Water Park and More option gives guests a total of 4 visits to a choice of a Disney water park, Disney Quest Indoor Interactive Theme Park or certain other attractions.

During this offer period, active or retired U.S. Military personnel may make a one-time purchase of up to a maximum of five 4-Day companion tickets (one theme park per day) for $99 per ticket, for family members (including spouse) or friends. Although this ticket for family members and friends does not include either the Park Hopper or Water Park Fun & More options, this ticket can be upgraded to add either such option, or both, for an additional $25, per option. All tickets and options are non-transferable and must be activated by September 26, 2010. Block out dates 3/27- 4/9/2010 All locations. 7/3-4/2010 Magic Kingdom only. Tickets available for purchase at Shades of Green beginning January 3, 2010. Tickets expire September 30, 2010.

On top of this amazing special, Shades of Green has resort specials offered. Disney World Resorts are also offering their amazing a 40% Military discount on their room rates for Military as they did last year (black out dates apply). Remember the following codes when reserving your rooms:
