Retro to TIME

I was amazed at how much the local game swap shops think NES, SNES, Genesis, and PS1 games are worth. They're fun, but there's no reason to waste more than a few bucks ($1-4 maybe) on them.

Here's one I didn't know existed until your post sparked some searching.
It's a GENesis, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, NES combo unit. A bit expensive $50 + shipping and up, though. Starting to get close to the price of a cheap arcade cab there, which I would prefer even if it has only one good title in it.

And where's my TG16 games on the PS3 network?!? This stuff needs ported into the new machines - get those emulator programmers a payday, revive revenue for the retro license holders, and give us consumers some cheap trash.

Thanks, OP. Now I can play FF3 on a big tv without lag. Hell, I might go get some old nes cartridges at used game stores. Last time I looked, they were around a buck each.

The sound isn't quite right on these units. It's close, but the tone is off in a sort of annoying/distorted way. Most people don't even notice it.

Emulators are really the way to go if for no other reason than save states & the ability to speed the game up.

I have to agree. I've messed around with three NES clones and the original system was far superior. Not only are the graphics and sound off sometimes, but some clones have controller lag. Check Craigslist and eBay for original NES systems.
