I was amazed at how much the local game swap shops think NES, SNES, Genesis, and PS1 games are worth. They're fun, but there's no reason to waste more than a few bucks ($1-4 maybe) on them.
Here's one I didn't know existed until your post sparked some searching. It's a GENesis, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, NES combo unit. A bit expensive $50 + shipping and up, though. Starting to get close to the price of a cheap arcade cab there, which I would prefer even if it has only one good title in it.
And where's my TG16 games on the PS3 network?!? This stuff needs ported into the new machines - get those emulator programmers a payday, revive revenue for the retro license holders, and give us consumers some cheap trash.
Also a modded xbox 1 can play roms you download plus runs xbox media center. Also all the other consoles from atari to turbografix 16 to snes. I actually have a single dvd for xbox 1 with just about every rom and emulator for every system up to 16 bit on it.
Thanks, OP. Now I can play FF3 on a big tv without lag. Hell, I might go get some old nes cartridges at used game stores. Last time I looked, they were around a buck each.

This would make a decent gift. The FC 3 Plus is a good deal at $50 too, though. However, I'm going to stick with my modded first-gen Xbox for actual game playing, and if want to be retro/nostalgic, I've got a couple of original NES and SNES consoles from my local thrift store for a couple bucks. They're all yellow and sticky, though.

Here's a thread about the compatibility on the Retro Duo. I am going out on a limb here and guessing this is the same company and that the Retro Duo uses the same single chip NES design:
Guys this stuff is junk. All these NES clones are nothing more than NES-on-a-chip with sub-par emulation that results in muddy graphics, sound glitches, and several games not working at all. I'm a retro gamer and a collector, I know my stuff. You're better off buying a real NES on eBay for $20-30. I got one with a brand new connector pin.

I have to agree. I've messed around with three NES clones and the original system was far superior. Not only are the graphics and sound off sometimes, but some clones have controller lag. Check Craigslist and eBay for original NES systems.

Software emulation beats the heck out of this garbage. If you insist on using real cartridges, then you're better off with a first-party NES system.
