Just bought a Frigidaire Dishwasher from Lowes for $398.40.
It looks good and I haven't seen any bad reviews.
Installation charges $144 but has a mail in rebate of $144.

there's another advertised for $334.39 at Sears this weekend ($351.99 plus add'l 5% off for using Sears card=$334.39)

Frigidaire Dishwasher

If you want to spend a little less, consider the Whirlpool DU1055XTVQ on sale for $318.40; free delivery/haul away. I've researched--Lowes is the best price around on this one (B&M or web). I'm not having it installed, so can't address that issue. Also get 10% off if you get the Q from the Post Office's moving package. This model is highly rated at consumersearch.com --named best basic dishwasher.

Also, check Sears as they have many appliances at a good price tomorrow, with lots of options in addition to sale prices. See today's FW post "Sears 20% off Energy Star appliances."

Linky Sears has the same item for $519

The price is for Stainless Steel. That's why I thought it is worth buying it for that price.

What was the regular price on this? The fact is not every dishwasher cleans that well. I remember having to return a dishwasher to the store as it was very poor in getting dishes clean.

The sticker says 'Was $549 and Now $498'. After 20% off, it is $398.
The better deal for me is the installation. It is free after mail in rebate if you buy any dishwasher prices $497 and above.

Frigidaire Dishwasher

And Sears will PM plus 10% of the difference AND has 20% off all Energy Star appliances. If this works (assuming they'll apply 20% discount after PM -- not sure if that's how they'd do it), the final price would be $309. If you're in Maryland or another state with an Energy Star rebate, you can get an additional $50 off for a final of $259 (plus tax on $309). Obviously, I didn't include shipping or installation charges either. For that price, I'd be willing to pick it up and put the thing in myself, and I would if we didn't already have a Kenmore Elite that we paid through the nose for last November.

Probably worth a shot if someone needs this.

[edit] Just found out about the 8% Bing CashBack. That would be an additional $24.64 off the $308 price. AR (if available to you), that's $234.36.

plastic tub, not stainless. Pass. Stainless veneer on the door only, not where it really counts, next to the dishes and bacteria.

Dayton Dealer: do you happen to know the website where I can check the government's Energy Star program? Would love to know what qualifies. THanks.

Check this link from the Energy Star website: Energy Star. Just enter your zip code.

Thanks OP! Great deal. Ended up at $356 after 30% off plus free install after rebate.

Sweet! Thanks for the tip, I was looking at this dishwasher 2 weeks ago at Lowes for 549.00. I got mine today for the 398.40 plus and extra 10% off with coupon. Best part, no sales tax and install is refunded via rebate.

I would not buy anything made by Whirlpool or Maytag (same company now). They have co-opted their good names and now make and sell junk; Nor will they stand behind their product.

I've posted my litany of grief over my $700 Maytag dishwasher here before so I won't clutter the space again. Suffice it to say, and I quote their customer service people: "Well Mr. Johnson, our products are only designed and expected to last 4-5 years."

!

I'm having trouble finding reviews on this one -- where did you find them OP?

Whirlpool products (including Matyag, Magic Chef, Jenn-Air, Kitchenaid, Roper, etc.) have a lot fewer service and repair issues than the 2 other major brands: GE (Hotpoint, RCA, Adora, Profile, Monogram, Americana, etc.) and Electrolux (Frigidaire, Kelvinator, Tappan, Icon, etc.)

I know this for a fact as I work for one of the nation's largest distributors of major appliance parts.

Jason, that may be but Whirlpool does not stand behind their products at all.

Whatever you buy, don't let yourself get fooled by Maytag (Whirlpool). The Maytag repairman is definitely NOT a lonley guy any more.

I have had a litany of trouble with my $700 Maytag dishwasher that you've seen described in other posts by others. My list includes:

- Racks that fall apart since the plastic they used can't handle the heat;
- Broken latches (the second one is about to break the same way again);
- Parts from manufacturing left in the pump to grind away;
- Parts from the disintegrating interior that get into the pump and grind away;
- Stainless steel that isn't even close to stainless;

The latest?: the "gummy-worm" material they use for a gasket seems to dissolve in water over time. So now, when my $700 Maytag dishwasher is moaning and groaning away making more noise than two Bosch would, it is also leaking all over the kitchen floor.

My biggest complaint isn't any of these issues though. Just like General Motors the biggest problem this company has is the way they treat their customers after the sale. I've called and complained since we bought this thing, and got excuse after excuse until the warranty ran out. After the warranty ran out I was told "sorry, you're out of warranty, we can't help you". In my final rant at CS, I was finally offered a concession: A coupon to buy another Maytag to replace the one I've had constant problems with! What a slap in the face. How stupid am I?

Well, I can tell you this landfill-candidate will be replaced by a Bosch ASAP so I guess I only fall under the "fool me once" category.

I need to by WASHER, DRYER and FRIDGE any good deals on frigidair on presidents day
