You're right that Amazon's prices are competitive, but remember you also will have to pay at least $2.98 for shipping for one Amazon movie, while each of Deep Discount movie has free shipping.
On a side note, I can't help but notice the Deep Discount and the Amazon Princess Bride entries have different covers. Does anyone know if there is any difference between the two?

Well, I buy from both when ever there are really good bluray deals. The last deal , I got a little from each, whatever was the better price at the time. Amazon was cheaper for most even after the last coupon. As far as shipping I have Amazon Prime so I get it faster and Free. DD takes a while to get. Basically I suggest when ever making a batch Bluray purchase open up Amazon,DD,J&R in separate Tabs or whomever you usually get from or is having a sale in blue rays and just go by that. Nothing really stuck out for me to buy this time $10 is usually my price point for bluray movies and $25-$40 for box sets. However $110-$125 would probably be my price point for the BSG Box Set. Unless you want something right now I would hold off until November when there should be lots more blueray deals.
Thanks for the suggestion, Gunther. Deep Discount is a better alternative if you don't have Amazon Prime, but you are right - it does take a while to get. I usually use Deep Discount to get those DVDs that I want in my collection but I don't mind waiting for. If its a recent release, I'd still recommend Overstock over Amazon. They have faster shipping and the advantage of FatWallet CashBack.
On the subject of boxed sets, I think it depends what you are looking. $25-40 is typically good, but some full seasons (22+ full, 45 minute episode) tend to run a little bit more. You're right though - November's not only the start of the holiday season; it's also when all the good stuff is released on DVD (can't wait for Star Trek.)
I don't know, Frugal Freak. I only have Blu-ray access thanks to my PS3, so I'm not the biggest Blu fan either. But on the other hand, the Blu-ray push is driving down regular DVD prices, so I can't complain.

This is just a guess, but the Amazon picture was probably used early on so sites could have a picture to show before the final cover, the ambigram one, was finished. So I don't think there is a difference. You can check DVD Talk for a thorough review of the Blu-ray version of The Princess Bride.
