Rep offered US and Canada for $9.99, indefinitely, no more calling back.... not a bad deal! Saves a few more bucks, but after another $10 or so in "taxes and fees", you are still back and $17-$20 range. I'm pretty sure I'm going to port my home number to a cell temporarily, then port to GV. I'm betting GV remains free for the foreseeable future.
Called Vonage today to see if they can offer me reduced price plan for my current World plan ( Currently at 24.99). The maximum they offered 19.99 Pm ( with only 500 minutes of international calls). Didn't take the bet. Thinking of booting Vonage either for Nettalk or AllVoi. Will try calling Vonage once more before that.

Same here. I am going to quit after this month is over, as they never issue any prorated refunds. I hope with NetTalk their arrogance will go down.

I've been a satisfied Vonage customer for more than 6 years, been on the $12.50 6 month plan for several rounds, and just got on the $9.99. No more calling every six months. Well worth the 10 minutes to get it switched.
I have been with them for a little over 6 years. When I called I did not ask for a price reduction or a better plan. I simply called and said I wanted to cancel service. Her first question was, why? I told her I was looking to cut costs and didn't really use the phone that much. She asked that if she could drastically cut my bill would I be interested.

Whether you got a world plan for 9.99 or some other plan?

Odd - I've called in about every 6 months for as long as I can remember in order to get a new promo rate, and I've always automatically received a prorated refund from the day I called in.
I ended up canceling my Vonage service and ended up moving to to a combination of google voice/voip.ms. After the # port and I was trying to close my account they were offering me unlimited US/Canada for $9.99/month + $5 in taxes/charges. Some of you guys should try for that.

Last Christmas, Vonage not only did not let me accept calls but took 2 weeks to deliver the messages! After being lied to by 2 CSRs, Vonage agreed to refund that month's service (& cancel my service ... giving me trouble cancelling and I wasn't even on contract!) -- and throughout all this, acting like they were doing me a favour!
My Nettalk Duo should be here this week and my number ports!
FWIW, Nettalk has a Valentine's Day deal -- order 2 devices & both ship for free (shipping starts @ $10 ea. device).
Just called and got $9.99 per month for unlimited US & Canada for life.
NICE!
Can you verify that plan is indeed unlimited, and if so, can you provide me the name of it?
I just got in on a $10/month plan having no expiration... however, outgoing US and Canada minutes are limited to 200. (Any over that cost 5c each. Inbound minutes are unlimited.) Vonage calls this, in the confirmation e-mail just sent me, the "$9.99 U.S. and Canada 200" plan.
The representative from the "Account Management Department" (who I got after requesting cancellation, first offered me $12.50/month unlimited for 6 months, after which it would return to $25/month plan (before fees), which I did not accept.

They put you on the wrong plan. Call back and ask for the $9.99 Unlimited US & Canada plan. They quietly dropped the free Europe calling but I do not need that.
Mine says the following.
Current Plan : $9.99 $9.99 month U.S. and Canada Unlimited
Called Vonage again today, threatening to cancel ( Have a world plan which costs me about 35 per month). The CSR tried to give me some crap options based on my usage which were not good for me. Was pushing them to provide a plan which will bring down my monthly cost to about 20 including taxes, but could not get any option. The CSR mentioned that the marketing team is planning to come up with some new plan in about months time, & offered me to provide a 1 month's credit ( which will cover my taxes as well). I went for it, as it will just give some more time to research some other services such as AllVoi, NetTalk or Unovon & will also see what Vonage comes up in a months's time.
Need to call them in about one months's time again.

I called about two weeks ago and offered the $9.99 plan for as long as I keep Vonage service - US and Canada.
