Well, whether you "like" the way the fan looks or not. OP did find a pretty good deal. It's $10 cheaper than anything I can find. It's even cheaper than the prices on eBay. I think the blades are skate board decks. My hunch is that there are probably a few little skaters dudes out there who might dig this fan in their room.
You probably can't put a CFL in it. Since it's 40W, I assume it's one of those little fan bulbs. They do make CFLs that fit the base, but they're often quite a bit larger than the equivalent incandescent. The light kit looks like it could be fairly small, so that's probably the case.
