I am a fairly light user and as such use block accounts. Blocknews has the lowest prices out there now so have been using them for a few months, service is great! Anywho, because you pay for GB's upfront I am usually pretty stingy in what i download. Was playing around with the service today and to test things out on a new high speed connection i have access to, i wanted to see what the EU server could provide. I put some stuff in to download but then got a phone call which side tracked me. I came back about 15 minutes later and saw that i was still connected.
I was pretty pissed since i thought i blew through my quota so i logged into my account to see the damage done and low and behold it didnt change! I tried another gig or so and it did not change..switched back to the US server and tried a bit and the US usage i did got added to my total used.
So it seems like the EU server isnt causing you to decrease your GBs used! Only downfall is that you need to pay to have an account..but there cheapest account is $2.75. Someone will most likely e-mail them to i am sure..pretty standard fare for some around here!
I am sure once they see several hundred $2.75 accounts come through they will realize something is up and discover whats going on, so hopefully people change it up a bit.
Also, it is only the EU server that has this mistake so those far away from it may not have great speeds due to the route it takes..but hey, it doesnt count against you so i would think you wouldnt care about slightly slower speeds!
Good point, but inside the control panel on the website it says usage updates every 10 minutes. This is verifiable with the US server to. Unless they are sending the EU usage information over by pony express there is no reason to think that wouldnt be every 10 minutes as well. Plus, if it only updated every 24 hours you could really go over your purchased quota quite a bit..start just after the update and download full bore for 24 hours, so it is pretty unlikely.
Just to confirm, I downloaded more before i went to bed last night and even when i check now, usage has not changed so i do not think it is updating. Anyone else able to confirm?
