I dont see the FM transmitter included in the picture. I have used one from BB in the past and it includes FM transmitter so that it can be tuned into the same frequency as the radio to transmit the audio.

Isn't it INSIDE the cigarette lighter power plug?

This deal came through a few weeks ago and I got in for one. Terrible decision. Doesn't work at all. I tried it in both my cars and nothing. You can faintly hear something for about half a second if you push the connection hard to one side. But even doing that, the music doesn't stay. Yeah, it's only $2.51 but for that I can buy something I don't have to wait for, try, and toss in the garbage can.
Not trying to thread crap, but these FM transmitters will probably not work if you live in or near a city. You need to find a place on the bandwidth without any radio stations nearby and this just doesn't exist. I've now tried three different models (2 were given as gifts) to no avail. On the other hand, $2.50 for a recharger is not a bad deal even if the transmitter doesn't work at all.

Same here. Either Shop4tech knows these are junk and nobody is gonna pay the return shipping when they find out they don't work, or these are just so cheap to produce that they are actually making some money on this and the product might actually work (for some people at least).
Don't know what to think with the posters stating that the device doesn't work at all. Buyer beware???
Anybody that ordered this item, did you get the * 30-inch retractable standard 3.5mm audio connector ??
Package includes
* 12V cigarette lighter power cradle * 30-inch retractable standard 3.5mm audio connector * State of the art 3D sound coding technology (Hi-Fi effects)

Uhh.. 30-inch? More like 3-inch, and definitely not retractable. Unless I just didn't think to pull on the cord?! I'll double-check tomorrow.
I tried mine out today, though. For the $2.41 I paid for it (AC and AFWCB), I don't regret the purchase. I finally listened to some podcasts I subscribed to a while back but never got around to listening to. It was great for that, so I will use it for podcasts and maybe some audiobooks.
When I tried to listen to music, though, I was disappointed with the range. The bass did not come through well at all. Mid-range was pretty good, treble was okay but not great. I enjoyed listening to random music from my iphone, which I never really do since I pretty much only listen to music while commuting. I will definitely try it again next week.
I'm still not sure what the USB part is for. I plugged my iphone sync cable into it, but I'm pretty sure it did not provide power/charge my battery. I'm not sure what else that could be for, though, since it's a female connector.
I was intrigued by the "88.7 MZ - 106.4 MZ" frequency label. I wondered if it really highjacked the majority of my FM radio spectrum. It turned out to only transmit on those 2 frequencies--the dash between them, which to me implied a range of frequencies, should be an ampersand or comma instead. I was able to listen on both 88.7 and 106.5 (my car stereo can not be tuned to 106.4 directly (which is true of every car stereo I've ever owned (never bought one aftermarket, not sure if that matters))). I could pick it up on 106.3 as well, but it was full of static).
Some day, I'd like to have a better FM transmitter for my iphone. For $2.41, though, this is much better than the no-FM-transmitter I had before! The fact that it can transmit audio from virtually any device that has a standard 3.5mm headphone jack is certainly an added bonus, too!
Does this gizmo give you true stereo sound? How's the audio qulaity? I see that some purchasers seem to say it isn't all that good. Any other feedback?
Can't get the connection to fit in my headphones jack in the iPhone 4GB. Do I need an adapter? Maybe I don't know how to hook it up (i.e., not smart enough to use it)...
I received mine in the mail. It does not come with an 30" retractable connector and spugbrap is correct that it only broadcasts on 2 different stations not the spectrum. Lucky for me, one of those two stations is not in use, but the sound quality is not the best. I think I might go back to the old tape adapter.

because when it came out all the previous ipod and iphone chargers didn't work with the iphone 3g

Because not all iPod accessories work with the iPhone. I bought a car charger for iPod and it does not work on the iPhone 3Gs so apparently the iPhone is special.
I dont have this one, but one that is like it, it sounds like crap, don't buy these, they don't work, if you have an older radio with a cassette player, just get an adapter for a couple of bucks, my car only has a cd player, so I cant use the cassette adapter.

The 3.5mm audio connector is no more than 5", certainly not 30" as described by Shop4tech.com.
The 106.4 option doesn't exist on my tuner, and my iPod shuffle just plain does not work on the 88.7 channel. I could return this for an exchange (no returns, just exchanges according to Shop4tech). Not worth the effort.
I agree - don't buy one.

BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD device. I got them when they were $2 shipped. Same device. Works TERRIBLE. NO bass will come thru. Only voice. very bad. USE AT OWN RISK plus only works on the 89.7 FM
Bought one. Tried it on 2 different cars. I can only tune in to one of the 2 frequencies, but it does not work anyway. No sound at all.
Looking at it, I don't know how this thing would transmit anything, as there is no external antenna. So I decided to crack it open. I was hoping that I would be able to see an antenna (even if it was just a single wire), but nothing as far as I can tell (not that I know anything about radio circuitry). If it can be identified, it would be possible to tap it and connect an external antenna (like the Zune transmitter hack), and perhaps this device would perform better.
For now, it looks like wasted 2 bucks and change. Maybe I should have bought a burger.
I have tried the expensive transmitters from Bestbuy and a couple other cheapo brands. Quality for every one was crap, static on almost every station I tried, so I gave up and finally ordered a line-in module kit for my Mazda. Soon as I bought that, I came across this OP's deal and had to give it a try. Direct Link - $6.27 shipped from DealExtreme.. This thing was MUCH more powerful, allowed you to pick any frequency, and it even seemed to overpower the local stations (being from China it doesnt necessarily have to go through FCC approvals, i.e. no static due to low power). Might take a few more days to ship, but imo this is a much better deal.
Edit: Note this unit does not charge your mp3 player.

Also, because they are Apple and LOVE to be different, they decided to use a longer headphone jack for the iPhone that standard headphones do not fit into. This causes problems for many users and requires a headphone jack extension that you can pick up at Walmart fairly cheaply.
