This really awesome skateboard (is that accurate?) often sells for $80-$120, depending on where you find it, and which model you're looking at. This one was originally priced at $79.99 at Discovery Store. It's on clearance now, dropping the price by about 30%. Discovery Store had the best price I found this morning by about $10.
For those, like me, who are not in the know:
Unique, skateboard-style deck that recreates the feeling of snowboarding/surfing on concrete
Patented Deep Carve System (DCS) features 14-wheel, arched setup that allows you to carve 45-degree angles with fluid, edge-to-edge motion, preventing wheel bite and bushing resistance
The same heel-to-toe motion of snowboarding or surfing
Great off-season training device for keeping in top shape
7-ply, maple deck with grip tape, urethane wheels and steel bearings
Deck features symmetrical design with concave cut
Fully assembled DCS truck set with mounting hardware and risers makes assembly a snap
Wheels are 61mm x 24mm
30-day manufacturer's warranty
FYI: There is a coupon available for $5 off orders of $25 or more (code: EML2009); when I tried to apply it, it didn't take, so I imagine the coupon is not valid on clearance items.

ah can't be that dangerous if you've ridden a skateboard before. Tempted to buy one for my daughter and ride it when she isn't using it

LoL, that's sneaky, I respect that! I've only tried skateboarding once, it didn't work out so well. Mostly because my cousin had "sharing issues"!

Looks like Christmas shopping started really early this year. Thx for the find. My son loves anything with wheels and this has a ton of them.

Are these things relatively new. I checked out youtube and most of the videos are pretty lame. I figure if they were worth riding, people would have discovered that by now and posted some awesome videos. It looks like it would be pretty hard to ride it like a traditional skateboard.

If the Wikipedia article is right, these have been around for about 9 years now. The article says there were about 50,000 riders by 2005. It hasn't been updated since then, so I couldn't say what the numbers are now. The magazine, Flowboarder Magazine is still going, too. Maybe it's just a cult following, but even cult followings can be pretty strong.
And, no, I wouldn't recommend trying to ride it like a traditional skateboard. It's designed to ride more like a snowboard, rather than a skateboard.

The magazine isn't related to the flowboard/skateboard type thing. It is around using a mini surfboard type thing on one of those moving water devices. Kind of like they have at amusement parks or cruise ships.
