Was at my local ghetto Kmart and the clientale that frequent that establishment were totally oblivious to the great deal right under their noses.
They had on clearance 2 packs of 2GB SD cards and flash drives for $5.00. There must have been at least 25 packs left. I am sure this I'd YMMV but worth a look if you are in the area.

Was at the Lakewood WA store (which is a nice throwback to 1977 BTW) and they had single 2Gb cards for $5 each & tiny-size (physical size that is) 1Gb USB drives (the kind for photo frames) for $1.50 (but those are gone now).
Thanks OP. My store had them marked for $10, but showed $5 when scanned. They also had the micro SD's with adapters for $5. Both SD and micro SD were 60x.
Thanks OP, I bought a 2pk of the SD 60x cards several months ago and use them daily in my truck (Blaupunkt SD48 SD/USB only stereo) and it only works with 2gb or less size.
Thanks OP. No sign of the SD / microSD card type products at the nearby stores I visited, but one store had the dual 2GB USB flash drive pack ("PNY mini Attache premium usb 2.0 drive" UPC 751492408163 P-FD2GBX2/MINIHOL-MF) for $5/package, and those will come in handy for various occasions.
The ones I got only have a 1 year warranty, though I suppose they're about as disposable as a few floppy discs or a few DVDs at $2.50/unit. My initial tests of the aforementioned USB flash drives show rather notably slow large-block streaming write transfer speeds of somewhat slower than 1MBy/second, whereas the large-block streaming read speeds are around 13MBy/second.
Decent enough for storing seldom changed data on in a read-mostly application. Look elsewhere if you are going to write a lot of data to these interactively frequently since they write so slowly compared to other more expensive / higher capacity units. Certainly not good for readyboost.
Gastonia NC (28056) had no SD cards (only had one pack a month or so ago so I'm not shocked) but they had tons of the USB 2gb 2pk for $5. I picked up one just for giggles.
There's still a ton left at the Richmond, VA store on Midlothian turnpike. They also have some digital picture frames marked down. 5.6" for $12.00, 7" for $32.00
Can someone post pictures of these cards/flash drives? I went to my local store and I couldn't seem to find any, so I just want to make sure that I didn't overlook anything. Thanks.
