I know that for my 98 Civic, you don't need a reader to pull the code. Just jumper the cable under the passenger side kick panel and read the code from the flashing check engine light. Also, just pull the fuse from under the hood to reset the check engine light.

several hondas are like that but what does that have to do with this OBD2 scanner?
