AT&T LINKlooks like the only tier qualify for $250 rebate is U200 which starts at $94/month.

Unlike every other branch of AT&T, Uverse actually has excellent customer service. I wouldn't judge Uverse based on your impression of AT&T.
AT&T has some of the worst customer service, and organization ever for wireless, phone, internet... I have multiple AT&T accounts, and most phone calls are over 2 hours.
Yesterday: (AT&T Wireless) I just recorded a call where it took me 25 minutes to convince the CSR that 144 is more than 120/2. I had AT&T Wireless for 2 weeks and terminated my account them because of too many dropped calls. My final bill was $250. My plan was $120 and I used it for 2 weeks. The bill should have been $60+tax. I found out there was a lot of bogus charges on the account and got the rep to remove the charges. My bill was now $144 ($120+tax?). In the end, I was able to get my bill down to around $60.
3 days ago: (AT&T Internet) I called because I have yet to receive a phone bill. Apparently they did not enter in my billing address correctly. This was my third call to correct the billing address as they apparently didn't change it the first 2 times I called. The rep had the nerve to tell me that I would get a $5 invoice for each bill that they have to resend me, even though they screwed up.
Every time I called Uverse, though, I got through quickly and received excellent service.
To get the $250 you have to get U200 with an internet plan. Installation is $149, cheapest plan is $90/month, you must have service for at least 1 month, and must have service when the rebate is processed.
Edit: You actually get free installation if you get more than 1 service at a time.

Sprint tried the same bs with me... so probably endemic to all carriers.
go thru live chat instead...my rebates came to almost $400. Also, mention code EXTRAGIFT. I got an add'l $25.
Make sure you print out a transcript of the live chat session (you get the option at the end). This is proof in case they try to tell you that you are not eligible for an add'l rebate.
If you have buried utilities, they'll dig up your yard to install this. My city was among the very first to get Uverse. There have been many horror stories on the local news about AT&T digging cable trenches and taking weeks to fill in the damage.
Also, it takes many hours to install it. I cancelled an install after learning it would take 8 hours to install Uverse and it requires a set-top box on every TV. The $250 is inadequate compensation for the hassle factor.

AMAZIN.. that this near monopoly can ADVERTISE the $49 price AND COMBINE it without any disclaimer and make most think this will give them the $250.... most other co's would have to FULLY disclose UPFRONT....
online chat will give another $50 bonus if sign up there.

Just for reference on the other side of this I had U-Verse installed about a month ago. I have buried utilities and there was no digging required. The installation did take longer than something like Comcast. For us it was around 2 and a half hours to get it installed. This was to have all three services installed (Internet, TV, and Phone) including a phone number port. The tech that came out was by far the nicest and most courteous installer that we have ever had. In addition I think the receiver at each TV is actually a benefit. It uses the coax in your home for networking and lets you watch anything on your DVR from any TV and can stream music and photos from any PC in your house.

Where are you getting this message? My U-verse is working great. Or are you talking about this website? It's working to as far as I can tell.

I wish U-verse was available in my area. It's available only a couple of miles away in the same city, but I'm just outside it's territory. Getting a decent temporary deal from Comcast to switch from Wide Open West.

it's in alot of new places each week just check back in on thier site and see in a month or two.
i like the tv service and the internet is fast. i have a quick question: i do have U300 and i was getting a credit of $20 for the last few months..they will now stop the credit and the monthly fee will go up tomorrow sept 20th and it will be $79/month for U300 i called customer service twice and so far they are not helping me..one suggested to downgrade to U200 for $64/month i dont care about movie ch but U200 for $64 is too much i mean directv and other providers are more competitive
what should i do to keep att Uverse for less and i would go for U200..any idea any suggestion? any good number to call?
let say if i would cancel the TV part and keep the internet..will they increase the fees of the internet? and if i cancel the TV and keep the internet..when am I eligible to sign up to TV service as a new customer and to get the $250 CashBack?
We just had Uverse installed last month...and had to have it uninstalled this month. It is CRITICAL to ask how far you really are from the box (not the box in front of your house--the main box for your neighborhood). The inside guy can't tell you, but an outside line tech can.
The quality of service drastically drops the further you are from the box. We live 3800 ft from the box. We can pay for HD, elite internet and voip, but the reality is that we cannot have two HD tvs on at the same time (the 2nd tv won't get the signal in HD), the voip quality is crackly, the internet is significantly slower than what I am paying for, etc.
ATT is very understanding about the problems and has refunded me, but it makes me wonder. How many people further down the line are paying for substandard service and just don't realize that they are not getting what they pay for?
Uverse took forever for them to get the glitches out. Problems and more problems, I had to call them so many times I lost count. Then I couldn't call because my phone service with them was out 6 times in 3 weeks. Had to use my cell phone, luckily it wasn't ATT so it worked.
Service depends on where you are and how new your fiberoptics/cable lines are. Also on the experience of the installer. It took about 10 times and had to escalate the repair every time going through a few customer service reps. My recommendation is unless you are prepared for some months of troubleshooting and no service on internet, phone and cable tv, don't try ATT. After 5 months things seem to have smoothed out. I will let you know if I have more problems, but the headaches I went through are not worth the trouble getting ATT.

That is likely regional, though. I think it is well worth trying out, as there isn't much risk for great reward. Uverse kicks cable's ass.

Upload the call?
I am considering it. She did end up resolving my issue in the end. I would also need to take the time to edit it since there is private information peppered throughout the call.

Guys, how much is the tax (and other bs charges) for U200 plan?
I am thinking if I should move from my Comcast basic cable + HSI ($65.50 incl. taxes)and Vonage ($29.50 incl. taxes) to U200 Triple pack.
So presently I pay $95 per month for 3 services. With ATT I would be paying for the first year $94 X first 6 months + $132 for next 6 months - $300 rebates)/12 = $88 per month plus taxes. So it all boils down to taxes for me if I just look at the monetary value.
