I was in my the Walgreens in Long Beach NY last week and saw the photo stamps software on clearance for $7.19, regularly 19.99. You get a certificate for 20 free stamps and free shipping. The picture on the box shows a $0.42 stamp, so I wasn;t sure what you got. So, I bought one and tried it this morning. I got 20 - $0.44 stamps. So I went back and bought the rest of the boxes. They charge sales tax on them which I don't understand, but still not a bad deal $0.39 a stamp.

I called my Walgreen to generally ask about photo stamps and they said you can do it through their website or by bringing it in the store. They said there is no 'special software' required for these.
So what am I missing here? Is this a non-walgreen custom software?
there is no special software. They are selling a box that has a gift certificate in it for 20 stamps along with some software that you don't need You are really buying a gift certificate for less than the price of the stamps.
when I tried the software it didn;t even work. I wound up just going to the website and entering the gift certificate code. What I don;t understand is why they charge sales tax on this.
Costco had a deal on these a while back (they had 3 packs for around @20 if I remember correctly). As stated above you don't need the software included, jut go to the photostamps.com website and upload your pic. You can edit the pic online, and choose from various borders. You're getting 20 "first class" postage stamps, so you get stamps for whatever the current first class rate is at the time you order your stamps.

Packaged software is subject to sales tax in most states. The product is being classified as software by the seller.
