The white color is on sale for $798 @ Home Depot minus 10% current promotion on LG appliances minus 10% Lowe's coupon (mover's coupon from local post office) -$35 Southern California Edison Instant Rebate =$611.38 + tax - $300 Waterwise Rebate =$311.38 + Free Delivery and Haul away (No Rebate)
I guess the most lucrative of this deal is the rebate. Which would also apply to other washers: See List Here See HERE for rebates which might apply to your ares
Brand Reliability: mrpodoman said:Quoted from Consumer Reports - Washers (Front Loading): "Amana and Fisher & Paykel have been among the repair-prone top-loading brands. That's what we found when we asked over 100,000 readers who bought a washer between 2004 and 2008 about their experiences. The graph shows the percentage of brands that needed a repair or had a serious problem. Differences of less than 4 points aren't meaningful, and we've adjusted the data to eliminate differences linked solely to age and use of the washer. Models within a brand may vary, and design or manufacture changes may affect future reliability. Still, choosing a brand with a good repair history can improve your odds of getting a reliable model"
Word of Advice: Call a few local Homedepots to see which ones accept Lowe's coupon. 4 out of 8 near my place takes them. Also if you are interested in extended warranty, the price is negotiable!!! I was offered 4 additional yrs of coverage for $100 which I refused. Then they offered it for $75 as a discount!

BetterDays said:This is very much regional OP.. SoCal only for the $300 rebate. Please update your post and title to reflect this.
I did put YMMV and also included a link to search for local rebates as many people are not aware of the efficiency rebates for washers.... But pt taken, will reflect title as such... thanks!
Thanks for the post, ardentazn. I'm in the market for a washer, and the reminder to search for local rebates alone should save me $150... much appreciated!
This might save alot of people some trouble. The web online price from HD currently is reflecting the 10% discount on the LG Washer. The stores however are showing the regular price minus 10% at the register. The OP probably pricematched the online price to the local price first, then applied the 10% off promotion (YMMV), then the competitor Lowes coupon (Very YMMV). After all that, the Energy Efficient rebate kicks in which varies regionally.
You got a great deal OP, good job. This is just a FYI for all others.
You can this admittedly smaller washer for: $648 -10% all appliances right now (In store) -10% coupon (Lowes coupon at lowes? should be ok) -300 in the socal area +tax
about $225 +tax, depends on the rebates in your area, but this deal does not have PM and competitor coupons.

Don't forget to apply for $35 rebate on an Engergy Star clothes washer if you have Southern California Gas company. I almost missed this one because who thought you could get a rebate from the gas company on an appliance that doesn't even run on natural gas! (You have to have a gas water heater to qualify).
Does anyone know that if I submit a rebate request today, can I get the rebate? The Water Smart website says the rebate is not guaranteed due to limited fund
mlee1999 said:Thanks OP. When I look at the form for submission it only looks like $50 for the HEW. Am I missing something to get $300 rebate? Thanks.
**Edit my city is not participating.** I saw that too, but note that the form says a MINIMUM of $50 rebate. My city is already doing its own rebate (up to $150 in Anaheim), so it's not participating either, so you might want to check if your city is offering some incentive already, though it probably won't be as good as $300.

I checked the current rebate program at Southern California Edison website, these rebates are currently available: $50 ENERGY STAR® Qualified Refrigerator $50 Refrigerator and Freezer Recycling Program $30 Energy efficient Electric Water Heater

Nothing about cloths washers
Yep, I'm trying to scare up a SCE rebate for the Samsung washer I purchased. No luck on their site as you mentioned. Really just bumping in case somebody finds a hidden SCE washer rebate.
