sleepybubba said:With all due respect to Bosch tools, Ni-Cad batteries is no deal these days. Li-Ion are. Sorry bratan, but this one is a red.
Perhaps but most home owners don't need Li-Ion as even just sitting there not used they deteriorate in a couple years. They claim 5 years but real world use is typically 2-3 years. Nicads can keep on chugging for 10+ years without noticeable degradation if you care for them properly (in some cases including zapping them back to life). A few years from now though, this will finally become a non issue with Li-Ion though as new tech is on the horizon.
OP - not sure about this deal but an impact drill is a great item to own as I realized this past Summer. I built a deck and the pure driving power of this for the long screws was unmatched. I have a Dewalt 18V Impact which is the best tool I have ever owned.
I did also purchase a couple of months back a Bosch 9.6V Impact Drill through a FW deal for about $50(also on Amazon and sold by CPO Bosch - received in 23 days). This is powerful enough for most home jobs and I used it this weekend installing 2 garage door openers and drilling into studs and all. If the 12 volt is at least as good as the Bosch, 9.6v this is a good deal. I let the battery completely go down as I always have a backup.
If you are in need of an Impact Drill (and any home owner who does some of their own work and does not have one, should) this is a good deal considering the 2 batteries and overall quality.
I also picked up that Bosch 23609 Impactor 9.6-Volt Ni-Cad a few months back. That was accually $59.99 and ordered on 7-13-09. I'm looking at the Amazon order summary. I ordered the 9.6v as a gift and gave this to my brother. He uses it to assembly stuff. Nothing major, he and his staff sure likes it. Took about a week to get it. Quality is top notch, both the 9.6 and 12v looks the same.

I think this is a good deal. It is not from Amazon directly. Amazon direct selling this for $179. Does anyone think this is a seller mistake and might not ship? I ordered one to give it a try.
