Rubix cubes have an inherent problem in them. They are too hard to solve for most people in a reasonable amount of time. So you end up learning how to solve it online. Then you just memorize ~ 10 steps (each step consisting of several turns) and voila! Solve it every time. However, this effectively eliminates most of the thinking involved, defeating the purpose of the cubes.
