The Dell store has absolutely horrible customer service. Check the Feedback. Items routinely canceled, long wait periods. And check out Dell smart a** responses to negative Feedback. The guys running this Dell operation are the worse.
Oh I want to add that I bought one of these for a customer. The computer isn't really impressive and shipping was SOOOOO SLOW. I left a negative feedback for the seller and eBay REMOVED it saying that the seller has listed shipping times on the auction page. So be warned that if you purchase this system and is unhappy, your ability to leave negative feedbacks for this seller is at the discretion of eBay.
Do not buy any Dell computer. bad experienced! damn.. long time wait for nothing and they offer me refund. thats it! Stupid idiot in this world all work for Dell.
I have 4 Dells, going back 4 years. I am very happy with all of them.
I have a total of 9 computers - Toshiba, Dell, HP, Compaq, eMachines, and Mac. Total of 5 desktop, 4 laptops. Plus a 6TB NAS with an Intel Celeron. And an iPhone if that counts. )
This Dell is OK. Based on the older Dimension case. Extra space, decent set up for HDD's to slide in. Plenty of SATA connetions, though not enough power for them all. Decent selction of expansion slots.
Newer DDR3 RAM, but only 4 DIMM slots. Maxes out at 8GB, unless they can take the 4GB DIMMs. Maybe a firmware upgrade?
Compare to other quad machines around $500, mostly refurbs from HP or Gateway. Slightly better detailed specs - larger HDD, maybe 6 GB of RAM instead of 4GB. But older DDR2 architecture. I don't worry too much about HDD size or Ram. I will upgrade both - usually go to 4 HDD's right away. I prefer something like a 320 for the OS and applications and scratch disk anyway. Larger drives for actuial data store of course.
