Well, after you pick up the Pre from Amazon, it should still be possible to call *2 and get a Sprint rep to switch you to an EPRP (Everything Plus Referral Program; the "new" SERO) for $60/mo. If you have an employee discount of 15% or more... then you can just use that and it'll be even cheaper than $60/mo! A great thing about the Everything plans is that they now have ANY Mobile To Mobile minutes now (unlimited calling to ANY time to ANY mobile phone, Verizon, ATT, Tmobile, etc. - ALL included!)... which means you won't have to watch your minutes like people on SERO 500 will have to do. SERO 2000 might as well just pay a few more dollars to get an Everything plan, because it comes with AM2M, GPS, etc...
PLUS, you can actually use any phone you'd like, like a Palm Pre. Can't do that with SERO now, can ya? Personally, I think a WebOS phone with GPS and ANY Mobile To Mobile minutes is worth an extra $20 bill per month... bu that's just me.
SERO also isn't available anymore. Do volume discounts stack with the $70 everything data plans? Also, see this articlefor ways to lower your tax responsibilities.

Clearly this is a killer deal. Especially combined with Sprints low cost plans, i don't think any other wireless plans even come close. I am a little nervous about the phone, though. Reviews seem spotty and I don't think this thing can tether w/o paying Sprint to do it. Anyone else have this phone? Is the phone any good?

$70/month doesn't sound real low cost to me. Or do you know of a cheaper plan that will work with this phone?
I am planning on going with the 59.99 Everything Plus Data plan. I am currently on the 30.00 Sero plan, but 500 minutes p/month is just not cutting it. This will basically give me unlimited minutes for $60 p/month. I shopped all other carriers, and AT&t wants about 165.00 plus tax for a comparable plan. I need a lot of minutes with data and text, and no one comes close. Sprint is the wiz and nobody beats em.

The phone is great. I have a Touch Pro, but know several people with Pres, and it's a very nice phone. Also, you can tether with it very easily (there's an app) and Sprint doesn't charge for it.

I should just stop waiting for Verizon to get a cool smartphone like the Pre and switch to Sprint....
Question: Has anyone here signed up for Sprint through a 3rd party and immediately switched to the EPP program? Do they hassle you about this at all or is it simple? Also, some of these third party services aren't very cooperative about porting numbers. If this easy through LetsTalk or with Sprint AFTER you sign up for service?
I'm really interested in this deal, I'm just worried about complications getting everything taken care of after the fact.
*edit* - Sprint's EPP site says "Available to new Sprint customers or existing Sprint customers adding a new line of service (not available for migration from an existing line of service)." This tell's me if I sign up for service through LetsTalk, I don't qualify for EPP. Any feedback on this would be helpful :/

I ended up getting a Touch Pro from eBay for the same amount of money I would have spent with Sprint including th e rebate BUT I dont have to accept a 2yr extension on my contract and the Touch Pro is WIFI capable so I can still get my high speed internet access most of the time. The best part is that as part of the purchase I can get a Square Deal warranty on the phone for 2 years for $41 instead of shelling out $168 to Sprint. Yes, I know, there are differences in the warranty coverage but overall its a heckuva solution and I dont have to shell out an additional $528 - 648 per year for phone and warranty coverage for the phone I want.

They do includee unlimited data but it is not on their high speed 3G network. Its usable but very slow by comparison. Think dial-up versus cable/dsl.
Might be a dumb question, but does anyone know if you get unlimited roaming on voice and data off of verizon's network, or is it just voice but not data? or maybe not even unlimited?

WTF are you talking about? I've got a TouchPro on the SERO plan and most of my coverage is 3G- and it works at 3G speeds.

Just going with what Sprint SERO Customer service told me at the time of the 3G rollout. Our connect speeds vs friends with ATT 3G or Sprint 3G has supported what we were told in that we have had a much much much slower connection. When I subscribed to the Sprint 3G data plan for my wife the speeds increased tremendously. We called for tech support thinking there was a problem with our phone or plan settings. We were told it was a plan which did not include the 3G network data speeds.

Any feedback on this would be helpful :/ You had better pour over LetsTalk's terms and conditions for getting both their discounted pricing and their rebates with a FINE TOOTH COMB! Generally, you are going to have to stick with whatever plans LetsTalk offers for at least 60 days, if not upwards of SIX MONTHS! The same is true of Amazon's rebate rules as well. Amazon used to have, and I haven't recently dug through them to find out if they have changed, a rule on their rebates that required you to submit the rebate 6-months after activating the phone, and then you had less than 30-days after your 6-month anniversary to get all the rebate documentation to them in order to get said rebate. These type of rebates are designed for one thing and one thing only. To keep you from qualifying. Period. Be very careful about LetsTalk and upgrades. Their site will tell you that you qualify for an existing line upgrade, they'll sell you the phone, and then start a brand new line with a new phone number and an extra bill for you. When you call them on it, they'll tell you that they don't offer existing plan upgrades for that phone, and will say you are lying. Screenshots are your best friend when dealing with LetsTalk. Trust me. I was almost burned once by them, and will never shop from them again. If it was me, I'd do the WalMart deal. Dollars to donuts you'll be able to return the phone within 30-days to any local WalMart store.

How can you get a plan for under $100 with two Palm Pres? I just went to a Sprint store and the salesguy offered a 10% discount if you are a member of a credit union or have an AOL account. So that's $63/mo for a $70/mo plan. Then he will deduct $70 off the total price (cost of my ATT bill for this month). That's only for 1 Palm Pre which costs $149 (w/ the $100 mail-in rebate). The other phone will just be a basic free phone with a $36/mo plan ($40 - 10%). He will waive the activation fee for each phone of $36. However, the cost of the Pre will be taxed based on the retail price of $550 so the real price will be $200 (CA 9.25%).
$200 Palm Pre +$63 1st Month (Any Mobile Anytime Everything Data Plan 450 minutes) +0 free 2nd phone +$36 1st month +$0 activation fees -$70 reimbursed AT&T bill -------------------------- $229 Total price for the 1st month + taxes & fees ($193 w/o 2nd phone)

No Palm Pre on AT&T but I can get a Nokia e71x for a penny or iPhone for $99 on Amazon and will cost $30 extra for a data plan (no messaging) so the total will be $90/mo plus a one time $18 upgrade fee. $5 extra with messaging (200 msgs)
Compare: One Smartphone with data plan: $63/mo Sprint ($79 Pre) vs $80/mo AT&T ($99 iPhone, $49 if refurbished)
