Question: Has anyone here signed up for Sprint through a 3rd party and immediately switched to the EPP program? Do they hassle you about this at all or is it simple? Also, some of these third party services aren't very cooperative about porting numbers. If this easy through LetsTalk or with Sprint AFTER you sign up for service?

I'm really interested in this deal, I'm just worried about complications getting everything taken care of after the fact.

*edit* - Sprint's EPP site says "Available to new Sprint customers or existing Sprint customers adding a new line of service (not available for migration from an existing line of service)." This tell's me if I sign up for service through LetsTalk, I don't qualify for EPP. Any feedback on this would be helpful :/

I am with Sprint currently (and yes, on the SERO but it has no bearing on this post) and did not want to buy a data plan but did want the ability to sync for contacts with Outlook. I ended up getting a Touch Pro from eBay for the same amount of money I would have spent with Sprint including th e rebate BUT I dont have to accept a 2yr extension on my contract and the Touch Pro is WIFI capable so I can still get my high speed internet access most of the time. The best part is that as part of the purchase I can get a Square Deal warranty on the phone for 2 years for $41 instead of shelling out $168 to Sprint. Yes, I know, there are differences in the warranty coverage but overall its a heckuva solution and I dont have to shell out an additional $528 - 648 per year for phone and warranty coverage for the phone I want.

I verified with Sprint the data plan requirement does not apply to phones purchased from eBay or other phone resellers. It only applies when purchased from a Sprint store or reseller such as Best Buy.

don't sero plans include unlimited data? isn't that a big part of what makes the plans such a great deal? i must be missing something.

They do includee unlimited data but it is not on their high speed 3G network. Its usable but very slow by comparison. Think dial-up versus cable/dsl.

WTF are you talking about? I've got a TouchPro on the SERO plan and most of my coverage is 3G- and it works at 3G speeds.

You had better pour over LetsTalk's terms and conditions for getting both their discounted pricing and their rebates with a FINE TOOTH COMB! Generally, you are going to have to stick with whatever plans LetsTalk offers for at least 60 days, if not upwards of SIX MONTHS! The same is true of Amazon's rebate rules as well. Amazon used to have, and I haven't recently dug through them to find out if they have changed, a rule on their rebates that required you to submit the rebate 6-months after activating the phone, and then you had less than 30-days after your 6-month anniversary to get all the rebate documentation to them in order to get said rebate. These type of rebates are designed for one thing and one thing only. To keep you from qualifying. Period. Be very careful about LetsTalk and upgrades. Their site will tell you that you qualify for an existing line upgrade, they'll sell you the phone, and then start a brand new line with a new phone number and an extra bill for you. When you call them on it, they'll tell you that they don't offer existing plan upgrades for that phone, and will say you are lying. Screenshots are your best friend when dealing with LetsTalk. Trust me. I was almost burned once by them, and will never shop from them again. If it was me, I'd do the WalMart deal. Dollars to donuts you'll be able to return the phone within 30-days to any local WalMart store.

If you did this deal to save $25 over the WalMart deal then you just lost your butt in higher plan costs over that time period. And that is IF you actually still have everything together to send in that rebate. Did anyone notice if this particular rebate requires that you not have a single late payment during that 4-6 month time period before being able to submit your rebate?
