Most places have it for $299 -$50 rebate. not $349 -$50 rebate -$50 GC like microcenter.
Yup, it's $299 everywhere almost. Go to Amazon, buy it for $299 send in rebate so $249 final unlike this deal where you have to pay tax on the extra $50 price and you have a $50 GC to spend later.

Actually (unless I am mistaken) the price would be $199 at Microcenter (in-store only). There is a $50 Microcenter GC rebate and then there is the $50 Microsoft rebate.
So $299 - $50 - $50 = $199 (for the elite) + taxes.
Wow, this thread is a mess. Microcenter sells the Xbox 360 Elite for the now "normal" price of $299.99. You can send in the rebate (from MS) AND you get a $50 Microcenter Gift Card.

I think the confusion is partly from the OP's slightly misleading title; seems like people assume OP is subtracting the $50gc in the calculation. Perhaps "Xbox 360 Elite $249.99 after MIR & ALSO GET $50gc at Microcenter" or something like that would be a bit more clear.
