Seems like a good deal (41% off). Haven't played this one myself, but I've heard good things about it. 7.5/10 on Boardgamegeek.

Use some filler to get it up to $25 and save on shipping. Here's one of the expansions for $6.

Big box version with a bunch of expansions is $54.52 - Linkazon

Have fun!

Carcassonne is a great game. Even my 5 year old son can play it. I suggest Inns and Cathedrals, Abbey and mayor and The River expansions. I would not get the scout or the count. Counting the score is the hardest part of this game.

Great game, people of all skill levels can enjoy it!

Great game -- and note that while it comes in a box, it's actually played with square tiles, so it's a lot more portable than a true board game.

Carcassonne (176.85kB)
Disclaimer

I was just in Carcassonne (the real city) this summer.

(I agree with the other posters - it is a great game.)

Never played the game, but the town is beautiful. There's a restaurant in there that serves the best cassoulet. I really need to get back to France soon -- guess I need to hit the Travel forum...

Impressive customer review score at Amazon.

Oh boy! FW brings another fun element to light - besides all the great DDR memory, flat panel monitors, etc. FW hooked me and my family into Settlers of Catan last year - and now this looks like another fun similar-style game. Thanks OP. I probably never would have discovered these games if it hadn't been for FW. Settlers of Catan has become our family favorite - now it looks like we may have another. Can't wait to try it out.

Good game at a good price.

Be warned, Carcassonne is a gateway game IMHO Carcassonne and Settlers of Catan are great examples of games you play that make you want to play (and buy) more games. There are many a boardgame geek with stories of "I thought I'd just try it . . . just once . . . but . . . "

I'll echo everyone else and say that it's a fun game. $22 is a good deal for it.

Too true. I got hooked with Munchkin, which led to Settlers, and then I recently played Dominion and I'm jonesing to pick that up too.

I found lower price at some places, not sure the cost of shipping:
$17.35 Text
$16.99 Text
(Free ship at $100 I believe)

Thanks. I'll try it. I love Catan.

Price dropped a whopping 5 cents

I was checking out some stores like this, and shipping always kills the deal. If anybody finds a place that will do free shipping, I encourage them to post in this thread

It’s a great game for 3 or more players. If you want 2 player Carcassonne castles is wonderful!!!

Thanks OP ordered it. All the expiations for Carcassonne make great stocking stuffers

Have you found a good deal on Dominion?

There's another Euro card game that's extremely fun called "Bang!". It's like that game Mafia, but it uses a Spaghetti Westerns theme. 4-7 players. Oh man... it's really fun.

Nope, that's how I found this deal funnily enough. Been waiting for a sale on Dominion but I might just pony up soon.

Yeah, Bang! is awesome too. If you're considering that game, my friends recommend the bullet.

Thanks ordered the game will see how it is. I am still a big fan of board games.

This is a fun game. Thanks OP.

What's great with Settlers of Catan (and it sounds like this game) - is that most people who normally don't like 'board' games (Monopoly, Risk, etc.) LOVE this game!

Thanks - hope I dont regret not getting the big box - but $22 seemed like a good price point!

Super deal. Thanks OP!

Bought it without any expansions. Hope it's okay for just 2 players.

Now someone get me a killer deal on Catan!

Thanks OP! Picked this up with Labyrinth for 41.70 shipped!

Mine arrived today with a river expansion. Great deal overall! Thanks OP

Got mine last week. What an awesome game!!
Discovered an on-line version as well at Link
(free registration for name)
click "play"
click "Toulouse"
you can play non-ranking or tournament play. Awesome and free!

I have a question for anyone that ordered the big box set. When you received yours from Amazon, did it come with 5 expansion sets or 8? Their website says it's supposed to come with 8 expansions.

"This big box includes the base Carcassonne game, along with the following expansions:
1) Inns and Cathedrals
2) Traders and Builders
3) Princess and Dragon
4) Abbey and Mayor
5) River 2
6) Count
7) King and Scout
8) Cult, Siege, and Creativity."

However, my box says it only comes with 5 expansions.
1) Inns and Cathedrals
2) Traders and Builders
3) Princess and Dragon
4) Abbey and Mayor
5) River 2, Count, King and Cult

My only guess is the last one is now a combination of the last 4 listed above.

Down to $21 and eligible for Prime.

Sold by Charis Games and Fulfilled by Amazon.

If you like Catan and Carcassonne, you will love Puerto Rico. Definitely more difficult to learn than Catan, but well worth it.

Greened that because I have the same concerns. For the person that mentioned "Castles" ...so we need the Castles expansion to make it a fun 2 player game?

great as is for 2-player. expansions always adds more tiles
