For a price of light lunch, you can design four 11" x 14" poster prints (full-sized or collage) for only $3.99 with free shipping. So if it was up to me to choose whether to skip a meal or look cool in front of your buddies when they come and visit your room, I know which I'd go for.
just a warning that in my experience, artscow.com uses inferior paper so that the images fade quickly and don't appear as rich or crisp as even Walgreens prints

it takes forever to process your order, i placed mine order on 9/16/09, still waiting ...
Now to find a deal on 11" square frames. Maybe I can just mount them on foam core or something.
Edited to add: I just tried to order a second order and it says one use per household.
Wow, cool picture, thanks for sharing. I ordered these prints from artscow about 2 weeks ago on a $1.99 special and they turned out great so I'm ordering more with this current special. I also purchased mine for a kid's room so I was very happy with this price. Thought I would share an idea with you for frames. Since it's for a kids room I though I would purchase these: WALMART LINK These might even work out better for you since you are framing 8 pictures that make 1 large picture.
Oh and also an idea that maybe everyone hasn't thought of, you can download great .jpg photos from google in great resolution for free and order those with this special. Make great cheap art for your house or even better cheap pics for a kid's room. FYI for all you photographically challenged people like myself, 1260 x 990 is the minimum resolution you should use to order 11x17. I also wait for a 50% off Michaels coupon and then buy a nicer frame with matting to make the pic look a little nicer if I'm actually hanging in my house somewhere. You can also scan a fabric you like at high resolution and frame those. I saw that on HGTV and it looked really cool but I have not tried that one myself. Please photo braniacs do not red me, I'm talking to all the people like me who are looking for cheap ways of decorating.

I never saw frames this cheap! Thanks for the link!

You are allowed to print most of the NASA images. I got a dozen 8x10s cheap several weeks back. The kids' room is space themed and it was cheap wall decor.
The first 4 are 3.99 total shipping included. Each single one after that is 1.99. So 5 would be 3.99 plus 1.99 - free shipping on all.

http://www.blockposters.com/How do you extract the images from the blockposter.com PDF and upload/use the images on the online photo sites? I suppose that I could import each page of the PDF into GIMP and save each picture/page separately. Or is there a more batch/automated process?

Gimp or take a screenshot or something like that. If you have Adobe Acrobat (not the Reader) then I believe you can export pdf's as .jpg's.

Decent quality paper. However, the color has a little bit pinky-red shade. I worked on calibrated monitor and fine tuned my photo in photoshop. The red shade may not obvious for anything but portrait.

When you ordered, have you unchecked Picture Enhancement option?

I ordered 16-11x14 posters and need frames for them. The WalMart ones look perfect, except it's too large. Calling all creative thinkers...any idea of how to fill the extra space if the prints are only 11x14" and the frames are 11x17"?

Depending on what the picture is, use some scrapbook paper into 1 1/2" strips to place at the top and bottom. Or black fadeless art paper. I have a cute picture of my kids that did not fit the frame and I used some cute ribbon along the top and bottom. It depends on the look you want. artsy, business, cute, etc.
I also have used Scrapbook paper to fill voids in the frames. You can use scrapbook paper the compliments your photo background and it looks really good.
Costco only charges $2.99 for these posters/collages and does them in one hour with local pickup. They print 3 sizes up to 16x20 for $2.99. It is easy to use and local and good quality.
IMO, the only real advantage to going through artscow instead of waiting for a good Walgreens deal is that Artscow seems to print just about anything, copyrighted or not. If you're a good photographer, Walgreens sometimes turns you down thinking that you're trying to get a repro of a "professional" shot.

Good idea. Is scrapbook paper the same as construction paper? My photos are all scenery pictures, or closeups of foilage. I was thinking a simple black background.

On another note, misspelling "foliage" only encourages people to continue to mispronounce the word...
