Does advance carry the big bottles of synpower or maxlife full syn to couple with the coupon? It could be a carryover from their other offers that typically require only 5 quart purchase (i.e. they copy-and-pasted the terms despite the quantity changing). Or they figure asking for 12 tamper-proof rings is too much for a typical envelope and that 5 will suffice as long as the receipt says you bought 12.
Likely the former since it doesn't tell you what to do if you buy the big bottles.
