Norwalk Toyota has $2 oil filters w/ limit 2
(specific oil filters which fit most cars but not the newer filter element only filters)

I've personally never had a problem having any Toyota dealer PM to another Toyota dealer but still YMMV on the PM.

Actually, when I PM the oil filters usually the other dealers let me buy as many as I want so I end up buying a full case.

forgot to mention,
Type T-IV transmission fliud is $3.49 per quart
Oil is 1.99 per quart

Good price in filter, my local dealer ask for $3.49 on their parts special.

Don't know if they will match.

Time to call my Local Toyota Parts Department to see if you price match. Thanks. Probably pick up 4 Oil Filters if possible and 2 EFI filters if the are under $12 after coupon.

good price

Great price. Lowest coupon price my local dealer has had it for was $2.99.

Most dealers will match other local dealers.

Wow, this is an awesome price!! I have resale for my shop, and this is way cheaper, good find. Too bad such a low limit and it ends in 2 days, I'll have to tell my friends to go with me and stock up.

Green for you OP

Very good deal. Be sure you get the right oil filter (double check the part number) if you're just giving them your year/model/trim. From time to time (including the last time I went) the parts guys for some reason pull up the YZZF2 as the filter for my 2.4L Camry but it's actually the larger YZZF1. I'm not quite sure why that is

There are 2 interchangeable sizes of Toyota 4-cyl filters and the V6 and V8 are also interchangeable. Only difference between the two in each pair is that one is slightly taller. I always go oversized (e.g. using the V8 filter on V6 engine) and haven't had any clearance issues yet.

YZZA1 is made in TN, the YZZF1 is made in Thailand or someplace round there.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Added: I also think they change the sizes only to compensate for interchange between engines. Means having to stock less filters.

I know they're interchangable but my car came with the YZZF1 and obviously I prefer the larger filter regardless. I'll have to ask about that when I exchange the YZZF2s for the correct YZZF1 filters I wanted.

Would you know off hand if there is a longer compatible filter in motors that use the YZZD1 filter? Just curious.

Yes, I know that you know. I just meant that's probably why the parts guy doesn't mind giving out a YZZF2 when a YZZF1 is called for. I doubt they'll know much about the filters besides which cars are compatible, unless they happen to be an enthusiast who takes filters apart both before and after being used.

The YZZD3 is the longer compatible filter to the D1. The D3 is spec'd for the V8 and the D1 for 6-cyl., but are interchangeable. Once again, I'd only go larger and not the other way around (less resistance, higher capacity, more filtration). The D1 was the replacement for the Japanese-made 90915-20004, regarded as the best Toyota OEM filter made. But they stopped importing the 20004 from Japan for the cheaper Thailand-made alternative.

Once I used up my supply of the 20004, I switched to the Bosch Premium 3422 for both Toyota V6 and V8. It is an even longer filter than the 20004, and is a high quality filter OEM'd by Champion Labs and now Purolator (Bosch bought out Purolator). Others and I felt this was the highest quality alternative once the 20004 supply dried up here. I still have 5 or 6 of them left since switching to a newer Toyota which doesn't use screw-on filters anymore...more of a pain to change just the filter media on the newer Toyotas.

What is the YZZD3 acutally for - the 1UZ motor? Maybe I'll try those after I use up my supply of the YZZD1s. Not that it really matters.. There's less than 1K miles driven on the oil between oil changes. I've been thinking of pushing back the OCI but because it's the 1MZ, I'm a bit more cautious. Hmm. I guess I should just exchange ALL of the YZZF2 filters for the YZZF1 since I don't see a problem with it fitting on the '06 Corolla either - that way I'll just have one stock pile for both the Corolla and my 2.4L Camry. I just don't need very many of them..for the Corolla anyway. Its OCI is roughly once a year, though the last time it was 14 months!

On one hand, I like the element filter setup on the 3.5L V6 and newer 2.5L I4 just because it's less wasteful - but that first oil change or two is a PITA trying to figure out how to do everything the most efficient way!
