All the ATT Go Phones were marked down and this was the cheapest in the lot. Selection will vary. Regular price was $29. As with Target clearance YMMV.
Does anyone know if the prepaid account expires once activated? I bought a pre-paid SIM once from AT&T and later when I checked up on it, all the money was gone and it was dead.

that's how it works with all prepaid phones...unless you add more time by a certain date after you activate, you lose the time on it
For all of you with AT&T pre-paid phones, note that the bonus program, where they give you $10 when you put $100 on the phone, is going to expire 10/27, so you might want to put $100 on your phone soon (which will keep it going for an entire year) to pick up that extra $10.
Is there any way to deactivate or cancel that prepair phone number? I bought a refurbished phone from AT&T website for $10 but never added any balance in that. I am using the handset with my postpaid contract line.
Will that prepaid line expire / deactivated automatically?

FYI - the $14.99 price was the clearance sticker on the unit before the $7.48 sticker was put on top of it... I can only assume that the eventual 50% markdown is coming soon.
Did you have them scan the item? It may already be at the lower price...

Yes, you don't have to use the prepaid sim at all. after 60-90 days with no money added it will deactivate.
I currently have 22 new prepaid phones in the closet from T-Mobile/AT&T that I have obtained either for free or made money on, when the various promos and cashbacks appear. Hope I don't get a visit from the Patriot Act folks.
Instead of just throwing away the prepaid SIM. I also cut it up like a CC. In the very unlikely situation the SIM is found by someone. They call up the carrier & get a grace period & service restored to the SIM. I guess just post 09/11 thinking/paranoia on my part.
$15 isn't bad at all. I had to buy a prepaid phone for someone visiting from overseas, and had to buy the phone at Wal-Mart for $30. I went to two targets (Edgewater, NJ and Hackensack, NJ) with no luck.

what happens of you lose your SIM for your IPHONE? how easy is that to get replaced? (I ask because I just bought the 32GB 3GS and this might be a good thing for me to have as a backup - unless I can actually clone the SIM - then I could just leave the iphone intact at home!

Michigan,Sterling Heights store price at 20.98. Item tagged as clearance at that price. I had sales rep scan it and rang up at that.

Yes.
That depends on which network your SIM card is on. If you are on the "old / blue" network, probably not. If you are on the "new / orange" network (previously Cingular), it probably will work.
