Hey there I found these listed at Buy.com and thought it looked like a good deal. It's price at first glance doesn't seem so hot, but I haven't been able to find an IDE 3.5" for under around 20 bucks anywhere else. If you guys know of any others please let me know but I'm getting this so we'll see.

FW CashBack or Bing (4%)CashBack

Am I the only one with old IDE drives floating around?

I have 3 IDE drives still sitting here, thanks for the post.

I still don't have the Bing showing up but for some reason that is normal for me. I had send in a ticket last time and they promptly added it.

great. i still have a bunch of IDE drives that are still in good working condition.

marking for followup... thx op just what i needed!

does anyone know if these are good quality? i have never heard of this company before.

remember these are for 3.5 inch drives...

I need a couple of these for backup drives, but I'm a little concerned about the brand. I wish they were the Rosewill units.

So I got my CashBack from Bing. These will get you 4% or $0.54.

It doesn't say anything about the power cable. You have no idea which type you need (if it's really not included), and you need one, because 3.5" drives do not work with just the USB power.

I'll be blasting them if they don't have power cord in this... It says "Just add a hard drive." Guess I'll find out Tuesday

Thanks, just made my new computer into SATA, now I have a use for my old 500 gig IDE drive.

Ok, so I just got it and it does come with power cord, usb cable, screws and mini screwdriver. Should be all set!

WR, do you have the chance to play with it yet? How is it?

So the only drawback I can see on this one is short cord length and also the power cord doesn't really snap in to the drive itself. It looks like an S-Video connection and can come out easier than I would like. I had to reformat the disk that I have but that didn't have anything to do with the enclosure. Seems to work just fine for me.

Thanks Op! Had a 3 of these Hard Drives lying around from my old desktop. Needed these to extract all the data that I had on them.

Thanks WR,
Based on your review, we'll assume that it comes with power cord and usb cable, right?

Does anyone know how big of the hdd does this enclosure support?

I don't know how big it will support. The drivers when it installs just say like generic blah blah blah. Sorry. One way to find out I guess lol. I can verify it works for 150GB drives ;D

If there's some info I can get from the enclosure for you just let me know...happy to help.

And yes it comes with all cables, screws, cords etc to get it to work.
