For all you out there who have expiring coupons still, there are still completely free dtv converters you can use them on.

Microgem MG2000
https://secure.freetvsignal.com/viewBox.php?qty=1&productNo=-21
Very compact, and comes with a free antenna too.

Digital Stream DSP7700P
http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Stream-DSP7700P-Converter-Black/dp...
This one doesn't come up on the Amazon dtv page but it worked for me when I added my coupon and then added this and checked out.

Consumer Reports rates the Microgem as Best in image quality, and the Digital Stream as Better (which is not as good as Best). The Digital Stream has a better program guide and comes with a universal remote though.

The blog that reviews these things says without substantiation that the Microgem has reliability problems, possibly due to heat. They don't have much to say about the Digital Stream.

I picked up one of each of these two to hedge my bets against the possible unreliability of the Microgem.

Thanks, good informative post.

Don't have a coupon but could use one of these DTV converter boxes. Doesn't look like I can get a coupon anymore either.

ordered a microgem, had one last converter coupon and this looked like the best deal/box im going to find before it expires the 14th. thanks OP!

title sucks....

"Free (AC)..." would be better...

Dang, anyone have a spare coupon that they don't need? Mine expired a week ago.
