This looks temping. I've always wanted a nice high end camera. Any suggestions on a nice lense to go with this.

Depends on what you want to do with it. For portraits this fast 50mm lens is cheap and good.

Check out this site for great info on Nikon lenses. His "dream team" of lenses are not the most expensive but still apparently very good for the price. The lens LetoAtreidesII posted is also a very good deal for a good lens.

I like this site. Very informative, but a lot of people seem to dislike it.
Just an FYI.. The lens that LetoAtreidesII mentioned may not auto focus on the D3000.

I like kenrockwell site too. I have been a regular visitor for almost 5 years. He provided a lot of good camera and lenses information and review. He always mention that expensive camera and lenses not always help you taking good photos. If you know how to make a good combination $500 outfit can win $5000 camera. That's why he is not encourage people to buy expensive camera.

Doh, forgot that wasn't a G lens. this is the cheapest fast G prime. (For crop DX sensors only, not full frame.)
Only "G" lenses will autofocus on the low-end Nikon DSLRs (they have a motor built in to the lens and don't use a screw drive from the body).

That is because the d3000 is a crummy camera. Save your money and buy a D90 for $815 from several stores including Amaz0n.
