Woh, this is big, where did you sign up to get this, I don't see anything on their email program that refers to this. Has anyone tried this?

Just called, said he wasn't aware of any email but to bring the coupon down and they would work me in for an oil change today.

I chickened out after reading that it was for the Atlanta area only, its only for Kendal synthetic oil and the horror stories about Tires Plus.

ok, an oil change that seems too cheap to be true... beware...

A FREE oil change from anyone besides WalMart... stay away!

Free lunch, yada yada yada. These people are not generous, nor can they afford to be. They're also probably not stupid. If you end up going to Tires Plus for this offer, be prepared to deal with some unpleasant business (might as well be visiting a timeshare salesman).

Edit: I expect a few reds from people who are excited about the free service, but it's for the greater good

be wary, some websites have photoshop guys making fake coupons that look genuine

some stores have caught on to this too and are taking action against people bringing in the fake coupons

i have no idea if this is one of those fake ones, but considering the supposed "deal" here, just wanted to say something about it

Agreed, if it is a legit coupon, be prepared for a hard upsell of things you probably don't need. They'll try to scare you and say you need a new belt because the one on your car looks like it's going to break at any minute, etc...
Anyway, I don't trust anyone at places like this to do ANYTHING to my car. They don't give a rip about you or your car, and why should they? Especially if they're giving you something for free*.

*coupon says a $2.50 recycled oil fee will be charged. That's probably just the tip of the iceburg.

I had a horrible experience with my local TIRE PLUS. I got four tires from them and they said free life time rotation. After around six months I went for tier rotation. The mechanic said I need to change one of my tier since it is about to burst and it does not cover under warenty. It cost me $90. They also sold me insurance for $80 incase if the same things happen again. During the pick up I ask them to show the damage to the tier and he told that it’s been already sent for recycle. I am sure it’s their trick. I am sure your free oil change cost you couple of hundred dollars. Please stay away from TIRE PLUS.

Who pays to replace a tire without looking at the old one? Especially when the tires are only 6 months old?

Take the free oil change and EXPECT them to tell you that you need:
tires,
shocks,
battery,
tie rods,
idler arms,
etc.,
etc.,
you-name-it.

Just tell them you're getting the car ready to give away to Charity.
THAT should shut them up.

Why would anyone about to give away a car bother with an oil change?

Be aware that they will be using a synthetic blend. If you drive a euro car and have been using a full synthetic I wouldn't put this in my car if it was still under warranty. You shouldn't change oil types frequently.

Because it's free (+$2.50)...

Bring a plastic sack and ask for the filter back in order to save the $2.50 charge. Then after you're done and in your car hand the plastic sack with filter back to the attendant and ask them nicely to dispose of it. evil:
