It all boils down to affordability. Simply put, if you can afford it, you go for a BMW 7 If you can't, you go for an Accord If you still can't, you go for an off-lease Camry
There will always be those who will swear by their KIA, and consider the Bimmers to be overpriced.

Just curious what is so special about these.
Thanks, not thread crapping, just asking.
They last a long time, need less sharpening, higher quality, etc. Typically better balanced in your hand than cheaper knives but people of course have their own personal preferences on that sort of stuff.

Green for a knife deal, but I'd like to suggest to anyone seriously looking at knives to consider whether you'd use all these. Most people are better off with a couple good knives than a whole set because you typically won't use the specialized knives enough to justify buying them. If you actually will use everything or most of the stuff in the set though it is a great deal.
four-star 8-pc set: this set actually does have the most commonly used knives, and in the "better" sizes, too. for example, the santoku is 7" instead of 5", and the chef's is 8", the most popular size. if you really want to knock it, it has a "superfluous", which is the 2-3/4" fruit knife. for me, it comes in handy as a second paring knife, which is the one i use the most. the only knife "missing" from the set is a 6" straight-edge utility, but that's a knife which is increasingly less in demand. the 3-piece set, which comprises of 8" chef's, 6" utility, and 3-1/2" paring, is most perfect as a "starter" set, but, wait for it, it sells for $170. You really can't beat this 8-piece for selection, quality, and value. while it seems the ~$150 price is here to stay, i wouldn't count on it. with OP's code, it is now $135. save up, bite the bullet, and go for it. you will be glad you did.
