My kids have been asking for something like this for Christmas for years. So far I've resisted. Wouldn't they die before they could be released into non-freezing weather?

you get a certificate to send in for the ladybug larvae.
My 4 year old nephew caught a caterpillar a couple weeks ago that he keeps in a mason jar that has holes poked in the lid. The caterpillar hasn't moved in about four days but he is convinced that it is just being really still. You could buy two of these (which qualifies you for free shipping) and be paying about the same amount for one w/shipping anywhere else. Thanks OP
Free shipping from the other sellers. Or if you wish to buy from Amazon, then instead of buying two, you could add something else to qualify for free shipping.
If you primarily want a lot of bugs, there are places where you can order 100s of them, or praying mantis eggs, for about the same investment which can be just as much fun without the plastic land. We got ours from a place that markets them as alternatives to pesticides.
