Not to TC, but let me share my story on these coupons:
A few years back, I had no issues using these coupons on anything in the store. They had the same stipulations, but regardless I bought tons of clearance frames with no issues having the coupon applied.
Last Christmas when I tried to use one, I couldn't find anything I needed in the store that didn't have a "Sale" or clearance tag on it. Based on my previous experiences, I got a basket full of stuff, and tried to check out. The coupon couldn't be applied to ANYTHING I had.

This is true and is pointed out every time a thread for a Michaels coupon comes up with good reason. Their coupons are a con. They aren't good on anything that is on sale, so they go around and put most everything on sale by 10% so you can't use this coupon on it. It's just a way to get you in the door. Also, if you ask them to apply the coupon to something that is on sale by marking it up to full price and then applying the coupon, they won't do that, which is obvious that it's done to prevent you from using this 'coupon' on it.

I find plenty of things at the regular price at Michaels. In contrast, I believe their business model is to mark up the prices so high, that even a huge discount like %45 percent would only be a modest %15 percent off at a store like Target. Harbor Freight does the same thing. It's a functional business model since people assume coupons or % off = SAVE! You'd be foolish to go in these types of stores without a discount.
In the past, I have used these for custom framing (so long as the frame choices I made were in stock and not special order). That made some very good deals for me.

Thx for this post. I love Michaels and have never had a problem using coupons. Again thx
I find Michael's (and Joann's) useful for personalized gifts such as mugs, plates and stepping stones, that the kids can make for the holidays. So this comes in handy. Thanks!
