We bought these units in August. Man not at this price though. Does anyone know there pricematch policy time limit?
By the way, very nice units, great price, happy with how they wash and dry. Much queiter than the top loader in the house we moved in. Had a Neptune for sveral years before the move, and this works better than that. Top loaders are the way to go.

You might try calling their corporate customer service regarding the pm time limit 1-800-553-3199. Your last sentence I think you meant Front loaders not top loaders.
Their pm policy on this item is kinda sucky cuz it's not a regular store stock item. I have to cancel the order and have the money refunded. And I have to go and buy it again to get the 10% off but 100 bucks is sure worth the hassle.

This is confusing - you are saying this front loading set is very nice, but top loaders are the way to go?
If you can hold out to November / early December - I'm sure the price will be even lower. We are still quite a ways away from the holiday discounts, and it wouldn't surprise me to see these drop at least another $100.
I'm wondering if you can do instore pick-up on these? it'd be worth the drive down to Oregon (no sale tax) to pick these up. Plus I have a 10% off movers coupon floating around here somewhere.

if you purchase online use the SAVE7SHARE promo code for an additional 10% off. I couldn't find a $100 coupon, but this works and same and take 10% off on any additional things you purchase-like the anit-vibration pads, hoses etc...

Amana is owned by Whirlpool, but it's hard to find any washer/dryers that are completely made in USA. At least the main officies are here and the $$$ stays in the USA. Most dryers I find are made in Mexico if the company is based in US
More information on this Amana washer and dryer is located elsewhere on Fat Wallet. Here is the jump: Amanas

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I see that my local HD in Michigan has a sale going on that lowered the price even more. Under $1000 for the washer and Dryer (Gas). Thinking of bitting on this one soon.
Yes I was talking about a gas dryer. Did find out that the gas dryer stacking kit is about $90 and the elec dryer stacking kit is about $20.
Still looks like a good deal

I went to my local HD in the St. Louis area today to look before I bought--my opinion for what it's worth: it seemed pretty cheaply made, quality wise. The doors were a lighter plastic than most and when I closed them, the hinges were crooked, but that could just be assembly. The man problem I had were the controls. The knob was loose, like the spinner from a Life game, and the control panel button were not actual buttons, just a lay over. I have friend who had a dishwasher like that and the control panel went bad quickly. She had to replace the whole dishwasher because the control panel was so expensive to repair. I'm not going to buy the Amana. I want something with a little more quality.

Its good to go to the store and take a look before you buy. I did the same thing last April 2nd. The Amana didn't have the chrome plated doors like the LGs. But the (Samsung manufactured) Amanas were highly rated by Consumer Reports and the price was a ton less. I have been very pleased with my purchase. And to purchase the washer and dryer before midnight tonight with a coupon (which expires at midnight) and get 3 percent Fat Wallet Cash Back for about $780 for the pair is probably the buy of the year on a decent front load washer/dryer. I hope you find something that you like as well. You might want to check out the Samsung's at Lowes. They are a bit pricey but, as I have learned, Samsung makes good laundry products.
I was able to get this deal in the store. I worked with the Sales Manager and he gave me the online deal on the spot (even though it says it's not available in stores). I received free delivery and 12 months deferred interest/payments by pointing out what Home Depot was offering. I used a Lowes 10% coupon, because Home Depot would have accepted it. I was even able to get him to give me the Bing cash by showing them what was available online. It's great since I don't have to wait for the Bing Cash Back.
Nice set, that is highly rated by every consumer reporting agency. What's more impressive than those scores, is what the current owners say about it. Most of the top rated machines look great until you see what the people who bought them said... it's worth a read!
just price matched the Sears price at Home Depot, had to work the manager because the washers aren't "instock" items (they are depot direct) he agreed to match the Sears price but wouldn't do the 10% off they offer on appliances right now or the 10% of the price difference that is in the price match policy. To get the guys to actually do the install I had to spring 35 bucks for electric cord for dryer and semi-rigid dryer hose (apparently they don't do flexible hose installs anymore. There was no tax on energystar appliances in VA today, but an interesting not is that the dryer is NOT an energystar appliance, in fact I couldn't find one that was, I guess energy efficient drying is done on a clothes line lol. so my breakdown goes like this: Washer----------------443.99 Dryer-------------------443.99 Power cord-------------14.99 semi rigid duct------+ 19.99 Total---------------------922.96 Military Disc. 10%---92.30 Subtotal-----------------830.66 Tax-----------------------+ 41.53 Out the door-----------$872.19
not sure but this set is made by samsung (rebadged) not sure if it is the same model rebadged or not because i didnt research that set because im a miser
It's not the same set, but yes, both made by Samsung, I'm just curious if it's worth the extra $200 to go with the other model. Guess I'll need to research them each a little more.
just looked it over a bit and the samsung has .5 foot larger washer and has an onboard water heater (something else to break lol) it also has some higher end features I guess and the pedistals are cheaper, I just couldn't not buy the amana's at my price, if I could get the others for under 1k after shipping and tax then it would be something to think about but no go on that one.

Check if your state or power company has any rebates for energy efficient washers. I was debating between these two when I noticed these rebates. I am getting back $280 in energy rebates for the Samsung pair, so I got a better, larger washer for cheaper, and it will end up saving me even more money in the long run because of less energy usage (even though this is sometimes overstated).
P.S. It looks like the Samsungs have gone up in price, so there are fewer choices for you to make.
